Since my new motor is a JDM motor w/ a 16g and 510cc injectors. Is my only option to get an AFC? Or is there a cheaper route than buying an afc that will still allow my car to run properly(not being to lean or to rich).
 
dont 16gs take oil from the head instead of the oil pump? im tryn to remember where the 14 gets oil from ( to lazy to go to the garage) i know for sure the 2gs get oil from oil pump with th t25

Yep, it's easy! Take the 450's out of your original motor and put them in the new one... Sell the 510's for $$$. But most people would just get the AFC!

In all honesty you could rig a potentiometer to the ecu's air signal and modify it that way using a EGT gauge or air/fuel gauge (wideband). But you would be advised to just get a afc.

OK. I'll have to try to dig/save $$$ to get an AFC. Thanks for all the info guys!!!

If it runs rich with the 510's you can lean it out some by backing out the screw in the bottom of your 1g mass.

You got so lucky on getting a jdm with 510's and a 16g, man you are going to love the difference with that 16g over the 14b. And trust me you will want to keep those 510's with that 16g, just get a safc, I bought mine off a guy here on this site for $150, or you can get one of those older style knob types off ebay for like $100 or less.,Anyway good score...

Sorry, but I need to update my mods i have a dual cone filter, 2g mass, dejune intake pipe, and turbo controller. Do those old school safc's work as good as the newer ones w/ blue screens? If you hear of an safc for sale around the price you got yours it would be awsome if you would pm me.

I just did a first gen swap into my 98 gst, It came outta a 91 awd automatic, so I was thinkin b-13, but it says tdo5 on the turbo, and I am not sure if a b-13 is a tdo5.

It's a tdo5/13b only the autos can with that the manuals came with a tdo5/14b a little better better then the crap that comes on a 2g little t25
 
tdo4 13b = auto stock
tdo5 14b = man stock

look at the blades on the inlet if they are staggered then it is a 16g if they are all the same height then it is a 14b.

also why did you make 2 threads for this in 10 mins?
 
Uh, I've never heard of a 13B turbo, I've heard of a 13B rotary engine.

The turbo on Automatic 1g's are 13G]'s. The 3KGT and Stealth TT guys use these turbos as a cheap upgrade from stock for some good HP.

As far as comparing the T25 and 13G, they are two completely different pieces of shit. As far as I know, the 13G came in the TD05H housing.
 
Just got a digi, wondering if anyone could tell which turbo this is. The only numbers on it are tr0760. Here are some pics...

I BOUGHT THIS TURBO FROM A GUY a while back, BROUGHT IT TO A WELL KNOWN PERFORMANCE SHOP, THEY TOLD ME WHAT IT WAS AND IT HAS NO SHAFT PLAY....BUT WHEN I TRIED SELLING IT,,,,EVERYTHING WENT GOOD UNTIL I SENT THIS GUY PICS FOR FINAL LOOK...HE TELLS ME THATS NOT THE TURBO I HAD STATED....SOMEBODY COULD TELL ME WHAT TURBO THIS IS!, NEED MORE DETAILED PICS? THANKS! :thumb:

should have taken a pic of the inlet but to me it looks like a TD05H turbo because of the shape of the compressor cover (it obviously requires a J-pipe) and huge actuator size, but that can be a 14B to a 20G :dsm:
 
Let me see. Ahhhh yes that is the TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF turbo. Very rare and quite valuable.

Now if you would post in a reasonable manner and show us the compressor side, where you took it, what they said it was, and why you don't think it is that turbo we might be able to help you.
 
looks like a SAAB TB25 turbo

-From oil inlet and drainage

Also resembles a TD05H its a toss up for me LOL.

Well I don't know much about turbos as you can see Im new,, but I brought it to Automotosports (AMS) here in Illinois and the guy at the counter checked it out, he said it was an Evo16g for sure, NO SHAFT PLAy just to add ;) and thats what i thought i had becuase the person I had bought it from told me it was a Big 16G over the internet but then when i had bought it, He told me it came out of an Evo III.....So i Don't know... i was going to sell this to a person on tuners, however he told me from the pics it doesn't look like an EVo16g, thanks.....again I will try and take more pics...
