NEVER spin a turbo with compressed air without some type of pressurized lubrication being sourced to the center housing.
 
wow, please tell me you put oil in there before you started blowing air thru that wheel? since i know it is not being fed with oil right now... geeze... sorry you got shafted man. your (not so friend) really shafted you. i would say run it til it blows, might get lucky like me and have it last FOREVER!!.might as well. next time you see him break his ####ing nose. i know i would. then ask him if that was worth ripping off a friend.

by the way, i have plenty of friends all in southern maine all the way up to bangor... if he needs an ass whoopin i will make a few calls. LOL
 
LOL no doubt its not really worth going to jail over supposedly slow boy racing put this in his car after it came outa of anther car and he put about say 8 thousand on it i did notice that the compressor blade had some numbers on it maybe slow boy rebuilt the turbo and made it ok its all to hard to say the thing is i thought this was some one i could trust not to doop me i personally make 7.75 an hour so 300 is big bucks to me.

As far as the oil goes im shore there was some still in the journal i only ran the air for a quick sek i just wanted to see how well the wheel spun. I only plan on running maybe 18 psi with the turbo i just want about 255-275 to the tier.
 
slowboy pulled an ebay turbo off a car and put it on his car? interesting story. yeah, i am sorry to hear that man. just go ahead and run it and hope all goes well. i mean, i got 30k outta an ebay 16g that was still useable. so it isn't impossible. good luck with it man. you could always pull the housings and see if that turbo got rebuilt or something? (if it is possible?) i would think you would need a whole new chra tho to do that? since ebay crap isn't usually 100% the same.
 
Well this topic has a good and bad ending. i have a friend with a gst who his turbo went out so ive got him buying the whole kit for what i payed for it I don't wanna Jew him but i need the money back but. the bonus is that a dsm will live again and he will probity be faster then i. He lost 2 dsm in 3 weeks a 420a and his 4g63 the 420a timing belt went and the turbo pooped out on him in his 4g63.

So now you are doing the same thing to him that you are on here complaining about having done to you? Selling him a turbo that you know is over priced (unlike your friend who may not have know that it was not worth that much because it was a knock off) . Two wrongs make it right I guess?
 
Any person that looks at that turbo and pays 300+$ for it deserves to be ripped off. Its not like its advertised as anything else your looking at it when you pay for it so no pity here...
 
Ok so Ive been contemplating about what turbo I have so if anyone can help it is much appreciated.

I've searched around have found that this is a 16g part number, but the 16g is supposed to have double fins from what I've found.I haven't counted the fins but they all appear to be the same size.I will post pics tomorrow.Thanks in advance to any input.

I have a 96 GST, I acquired it in trade about 2 years ago. Recently I have discovered that the turbo is in bad form. The turbines are totally shot and it wont boost for Shiza. When i removed the turbo and turbine housing from the exhaust i also realized that there was a sort of hardened putty on one of the outlets. So needless to say i've got to get a new turbo. I can exactly figure out what the turbo itself is and what kind of turbos will fit. i've posted a few pics, they are kinda bad quality. thanks Dudes.

I can say that i dont know what that turbo is. You can fit any mitsubishi turbo on, as long as it has a td05 housing, for the exhaust mani, t25's come on 2gs stock, or you could upgrade to a 16g or even a first gen 14b.

i did a google search on the number you gave us, and came up with like ceiling fan, so not sure what in the world that turbo is but you may also have to get a new exhaust mani as well.
 
You are going to have to measure the compressor wheel to find out.

Might be a Hahn Super 16G, whats the turbine housing look like, T3?
 
your best bet too get a answer is too pm jusmx141 a member on this site he rebuilds turbos and I heard he is real good.that way you don't have too filter out all the answer on this thread. hope this helps.:thumb:
