What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Well it is either a T-25 or T-28. If it has 9 or 10 blades, it's a T-28. If it has 11 blades, it's a T-25. Chances are, it's a T-25 though because that is the number off the stock T-25.

Ha hell if he throws on a 14b he will shit himself.. That will get really boring really fast then starts the ball of upgrades and then when your stomping GTO's and Mustangs then you can say it is pulling hard

Ok i have been searching Google and everything else i can to try and find out what type of Turbo this is. For the most part it seems to be comparative to a Garrett Super 60. Im not by any means the expert at turbos at all. Basically i just need to find out what model it is so i can find a Compressor Inlet Adapter that will fit it.

Here are some Pictures.

If your having a hard time finding info on thw web, call Garrett. Read them the A.R.60 M11 off the compressor wheel. They'll probably know something about it, and could help you find the inlet adapter you need. Good luck.

I know this is probably the 512th time this question has been asked, but i can not find out what turbo this is. When I bought the car, the kid claimed it was a $1,000 20g, I didnt know what that meant at that point, newbie mistake. I just use the car as a daily driver, so I'm looking to downgrade (or more like upgrade) to the evoIII due to the fact that my internals and head, I only run a tops of 12 psi. Just makes more sense, right? I have looked everywhere and I can't figure it out:confused:. If anyone has some input or advice, feel free to pop in. Thanks, Josh.

Oh and I forgot to mention, this is upside down. I hope your right and the kid didnt shaft me being a newbie, that way its not a chinese pos that isn't worth 2 nickels.

To me it looks like it could be a ebay turbo for 1 reason and that is cause it says M12 on it. The reason i say this is cause i have bought a few ebay turbos and pretty much all them say M12. This is just my 2 cents.

I have done some searching using the info given to me and it sort of points to the garrett to4. Does anyone have any other suggestions, maybe numbers off the hotside that might help me out some more? Thanks for all the help though.

first off its internally gated? 3 inch inlet....im am currently running buschur 20g should i switch over my current turbo is a boat anchor!!!! junk period lmk if u have and idea what it is or if it worth my time... thanks

I know this is probably the 512th time this question has been asked, but i can not find out what turbo this is.

Looks to be a real-deal Garrett, but the compressor wheel is an unknown. Visually it looks like a V-Trim compressor, which didn't do bad at low boost but made HORRIBLE airflow numbers above 20psi.

To top it off, some companies coupled the poor-flowing V-Trim compressor to a giant P-Trim turbine, which makes for a super-laggy turbo that doesn't make airflow above 20psi.

If you want a very laggy 16G, then this is probably the turbo you'll want to use.

what Holset turbo is this?
Keep your 20G. Don't fight to put a turbo on your car that you can't identify...visually, the compressor wheel appears smaller than a 20G wheel. Why would you want to cause all that grief?

Thanks for the help i greatly appreciate it. Its definitely got some lag, not spooling until appr. 4,200 rpm. So to determine what it is for sure is should probably measure the compressor wheel and run numbers on the hotside correct?

Hello all and yes,i've read and searched and been follwing multiple threads for months.
I purchased a 93 gsx for purpose of road racing events. It was a project car that I planned to learn more abot dsms with. Of course I should mention that I have a black cloud that follows me and nothing I do is ever easy. After doing the standard upgrade path stuff to the car from a mechanic the first day it was to be used at an event it spun a bearing. Tossed car saved some parts and bought a 92 tsi. did mostly the same building as I had on the gsx but some things learned were added. it has been a little less of a headache and most things that are standard upgrades were done as well as the trans, suspension, brakes, transfer case, etc. Motor was rebuilt head redone cams exhaust, 20g turbo and some other thngs as well as safety upgrades such as cage, harness and seats.
I would post my question somewhere else but I dont have authorization to do so because I havent posted in the tech section anything useful but I dont have anything useful to post except all the "what not to do" and "that never happens" stuff that I've learned.
Sum it up to say, I love the car now, its an awesome track car and set up exactly how I wanted it. Most things that were done to it were directly taken from this site.
So I have a bunch of parts that were from the first car, and the second car before rebuild and I have 2 turbos that since I'm new to the turbo world I can't figure out what they are exactly. I know one is a 16g but the other doesnt match the numbers that I've seen from searching. I know it fit the car because it came off a running motor. I hope someone can help me identify each of these and let me know if they are worth anything or they should be paperweights.
I've spent enough on the 2 cars to have bought something brand new but I like the one I have now so I'm keeping it and just figuring out what I should keep and what I should junk.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thats what I figured. The second one seemed to be junk. It will function as a nice paperweight. It is amazing what you find when you take something apart. I have learned alot from seeing what some people consider an "upgrade".
I found that taking everything apart and starting from scratch has been the best route. Now I know everything is done right with the right parts. I have also learned just how expensive it can be. There's no such thing as a cheap race car.
Thanks for the info.
