What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

I am VERY willing to do this, Just not sure how it's done.

what measurements would I be looking for in a 20g turbo or 16g turbo?

Use a dial caliper to measure the inducer and exducer diameter of the wheels, tip to tip.

Compressors:

Big 16G: 1.892" Inducer, 2.680" Exducer
18G: 1.980" Inducer, 2.680" Exducer
20G: 2.070" Inducer, 2.680" Exducer

Turbines:

TD05H: 1.930" Exducer, 2.200" Inducer
TD06: 2.175" Exducer, 2.560" Inducer
TD06H: 2.315" Exducer, 2.650" Inducer
 
No pun intended, but you can't judge the compressor wheel by it's cover.

Does this look like a 16G to you? (Hint, count the compressor blades)

a guy i knwo wants to sell me a turbo for 50$ i just have to put it together......also is my 14b repairable? the pics are............the 14b is the wasegate flap the cracks around the seal are they gonna cause issues:confused:? and the turbos I would just like some help identifing:D

ok so those are not in question then LOL, anyone know anything about the wastegate flapper cracks if they effect anything performance wise?
 
I have personally ran ones that looked worse than that. But with as many 14b exhaust housings that are floating around I would go look at the classifieds and find one in better condition. Just for sound piece of mind.
 
Guys,
i need your help in identifying this turbo, at the centre section it says RX6D, Turbine side seems small to me but compressor size is quite nice.
Its a IHI turbo, on compressor plate it says "P13F-15" and "rx6". while as can be seen in the pics turbo size has P16F embossed.

i got this turbo from our local junk yards, its in very good cond with no shaftplay at all (side play or inside out) and it was on a manifold similar to one on silvia (SR20Det) along with a external wastegate.

I'm thinking of replacing my B16g turbo with this one... need your opinion.

Hey guys. I was always told my car had a FP green. But when I took it off today, It has a garrett badge on the compressor and precision stamped on the exhaust side. Also A/R 60 is stamped on the compressor. The badge is all scratched up so I cant make out any numbers to look it up.Just thought someone may own the same turbo or can tell by looking.Any help would be great? Thanks!

That is a holset h2d turbo. I just picked up the exact same turbo at a swap meet. From the research I have done it is in the hx50 - 55 range.

So this turbo isn't a TD05-20g, due to having TD06 turbine even though its in td05 cover. Therefore, it will be less laggier than a traditional td06h-20g, plus its only 7cm exhaust housing.

Max power on this?

This is NOT at MHI turbo.

This turbo appears to be built by the same Taiwan manufacturer as the GT Concepts Evo III 16G once sold by Turbochargers.com. FP also uses this manufacturer for their housings and the TD06-SL2 turbine, but FP uses all MHI internals and compressor wheels.

In appearance only....it's most similar to the FP 20G-6SL2 in wheel size(s), although for the same money you can get the FP turbo with a real 20G compressor cover.

I'd go for the real deal unless you're cramped for space or trying to stay with something stock-appearing.

I would agree on that too, and getting the real turbo eliminates a lot of guess work and makes calculating other factors much easier.

And for the record, turbo lag is over-rated on almost all turbos in the 20g range. unitl you get into monster turbos that dont spool till 5000rpm, a little lag is well worth it once it spools (in my opinion at least)
 
hi all, i have been doing some research but i am stumped here, i am certain i do indeed have a true mhi 16g, but i am not sure as to the size. i was told that it was a evoIII though i do believe i got burned and received a small 16g. here are some pictures
