Ok I have a friend that bought a car with a 50 trim of some sort on it, I wanted to take a look and see what kind it was/condition since he doesnt want it on his car since its to big. But it doesnt appear to have many labels/markings on it, Just on the compressor side it says "G 204" on it, and it also says 767R on the hot side as well. It looks pretty big to so If anyone knows what that stands for let me know, I should have pics up of it in an hr or two. Thanks

Well its a Bullseye turbine housing. It doesn't look like their current 50 trim comp cover but I believe they origionally used a different cover so it could be the bullseye T04B 50 trim. I believe AGP use to use the bullseye turbine housing as well so it could be thier's. Are you sure it is a 50 trim (not that I don't think its a 50 trim, just wondering how you know for sure)? To me it looks like it's the T04B comp cover.

I was only told it was a 50 trim Im not 100 percent certain I know the kid that had it on his car was basically stock and it spooled at like 4300 LOL, It is a mitsu bolt on, cus he had it just bolted on his almost stock car. If I could find out what kind of turbo this is I could get it for real cheap and with my setup it'd be a nice add on.

well from what Ive researched it looks exactly like a bullsey TO4b 50trim except the one in my pictures doesnt have 6 blades??? What could it be then?

Well I don't believe Bullseye uses Garrett centersections. I believe its a Borg Warner 50 trim center section they use? Most tend to say Bullseye's turbo's such as their 50 trim tend to spool abit on the slow side. If the guy who was running this was basically stock then 4300 probably sounds about right for the spool. If you take off the comp cover & get some wheel measurements I'm sure somone who knows their specs will chime in.

Edit: Was just looking at the SBR site & it looks like the BE 50 trims have 6 comp blades (if the pics are correct) but their T04B V-Trims have 8 like the one in your pic. The comp covers also looks closer.

So did they just use different compressor covers or what? How is this turbo spool, power etc. Basically is it worth putting on instead of my Evo 16? My mods are perfectly set up minus a 255 pump and AFPR for a larger turbo so Im tempted. Also, is the V trim the only Bullseye turbo to use the 8 compressor fin design? Thanks

If you pop off the comp cover & get the comp wheel inducer & exducer measurements I sure someone could verify exactly what you have. With the T04B Vtrim it seems to have mixed reviews. Most say they seem to make more top end power vs the evoIII (though I have never seen any back to back or "hard" data), they also tend to be laggy for their size & I have seen more then one occasion of the user getting serge with it that they couldn't get rid of. The are a buch of posts on this turbo & even some with it compared to the evoIII so I'd say do a little research to see if thats the route you want to go.

I have a brand new T04b 50 trim and it does not spool slow. Unless you consider spool at 3100 and full boost at 3700 slow. That's in between typical journal and bb garrett 50 trims. Yes they are BW cores which use ss components designed for 40 psi oil pressure for fast spool. That's part of their design advantage in the S-line of extended tip turbos that compete with the latest Garretts.

The early Bullseye T04b 50 trims did have design flaws, particularly their tendency to shear bolts when removing them. I don't know if the old ones were slow spoolers, but mine sure isn't. That turbo is definately not the new compressor cover. The new ones have an raised arrow on the cover pointing to the outlet. Also they don't have those "fins" on the rear of the compressor cover.

Im pretty sure this turbo isnt the 50 trim its the Vtrim its the only Bullseye turbo that has 8 Fins on the compressor side. Im almost thinking I should stay with my Evo16, anyone else have an opinion on what turbo I should use? Thanks

justin

Yeah I meant those fin looking things on the back of the compressor cover near the core. I didn't mean the wheels.

Ok so this turbo was on my car that I bought from a shady guy, he said it was a turbonetics t-72 but I know its not. I know that it was rebuilt by fp and have the papers, and the turbo does have a turbonetics exhuast housing. Well here are some pictures see if you have any ideas

you'll have to pull her apart ant take some measurements of the inducers and exducers of both wheels to get an accurate estimate. . . I'd definately do this to know what I have so that I can be tuning using the right compressor map and not wonder why I have slow spool or fall on my face up top because I don't know what hot side I have. . . T-netics turbos are not difficult to disassemble.

Thanks just my mechanic saw it and said its around the same size of a stock one and i thought i may have gotten screwed over. Thanks

TDO5H is on a number of turbo housings.14b,16g. The EVOIII super16 that I have has a TDO5H housing.Im not sure if all stock turbos came with it.Look on the housing next to the dump tube for the blow off valve. There should be serial #s on.That will tell what turbo you have.
