LOL. i didnt understand a bit you said. maybe that i may hve a 50 trim.ROFL
is this so???

13 dollars and 46 cents says thats a good old T04b-VTrim, which comes complete with a lag-city-usa P-Trim turbine, and a less efficient than goverment pte housing. The V trim compressor wheel is about the same flow as a 16g.

If by some chance thats a t31 or a T352 turbine in there, you could get a 50 trim wheel and cover and have a good ole bolt on 50 trim.

He said its more than likely a laggy turbo that will put out around the same flow as a 16g. Its not worth running because you will get a lot of lag and not enough power to make it worth it.

Is it laggy because the turbines are larger than a 16g. i currently have a small 16g and this garretts turbines are way larger, except the hot side is a bit bigger.

Definitely a T04B cover, but that's a Kinetic DSM bolt-on turbine housing which was cast from a modified 7cm Mitsu housing....and the only journal bearing turbine those were ever cut for were T31's.

I'm on the fence about the compressor....it doesn't really resemble a V-trim aside from the blade count. The V-trim's blades were longer and closer-together. It could be smaller than a V-trim, putting this turbo somewhere in the realm of a 16G in terms of airflow potential.

I had some diesel turbos around that have the v trim wheel, at least they measured to be, and they look identical to his wheel. I figured it was the typical bullseye to4b-v.

op pop them housing off and measure the wheels.

Right, but if it does end up being a V-Trim, that compressor has some serious efficiency issues at high boost levels. It works well in the 15psi range by design (originally for non-wastegated diesels), but nobody goes through all the work of installing an aftermarket turbo to run 15psi.

Your current 16G is a direct bolt-on unit using all the factory oil lines capable of 300whp. To run this turbo you're going to need aftermarket oil lines, and it's clearly set up for an external gate off the o2 housing so you'll be spending $500 on an o2 housing and wastegate as well....and in the end you'll pick up a few hundred RPMs of lag while standing to gain maybe 50hp at the most over your current turbo. That's a lot of money to spend on a turbo that is prehistoric.

Thanks for everyones help. I'm scrapping this turbo then. Ill be saving some for another setup. Holset or 20g is the way to go for 91 octane I get in Texas. How much HP can I get off 91 octane with 750's and a holset or 20g?

Search around a bit to see what others are doing with their 20G setups- this isn't the place to ask specifics about setups or guess horsepower. ;)

I just found this turbo on CL and was wondering what exactly it is

^ Definitely not.

Look closely and you'll see a v-band holding the turbine housing to the center housing. This is some type of TD05H hybrid that has been modified to use a Garrett cover. Not sure what the wheel specs are unless you post measurements.

To the O.P.- this is now the second thread you've started asking the same question. Your first was titled simply "quick question" and was merged into a thread with the same title. This one is being merged into a large topic-related turbo I.D. thread. Please respect our rules and do NOT start another thread with the same shitty photos asking us what turbo you have....we need wheel specs if you want a correct answer. We can't help you until you help us.

Seems like it....just make sure you're getting what you pay for as I assume you were told your current turbo was from an IX as well.

No I always thought it was an right, since it came, with the evo 8 engine I bought. But when I dropped the, block off when I sold it the guy looked at the block, and seen a grinded spot on the block and said it was because the IX turbo had been used on that block. So I thought I might have had a nine but guess not. Oh well still useable back up turbo.

Hey guys ive had this turbo i bought for my 240sx back in the day and now i have no idea what it is. please help me out! During searches it comes back as a GT3076R but i dont think its ball bearing, how could you tell? It doesnt spin so freely as a ball bearing would so thats my logic there. anyways heres the specs:

specs:

Compressor

In- 57.15
Ex- 76.2
56 trim
.60 a/r housing

Turbine

In- 58.73
