I did it to upgrade the remaining weak link in the driveshaft, I’m sure it’s overkill but now it should be good from end to end.

This is in conjunction with the DSS 3.5” driveshaft which already has 1310 series u joints :thumb:

Beautiful 1GA man not too crazy about the exhaust but I guess I'll get used to it I guess is the angle it seats hey as long as is functional is ok
I'm not a big fan either, but it's functional (and period correct). The angle looks more extreme than it really is because of the angle the photos were taken from. I plan to replace that muffler with something more "traditional" later on.

Also replacement u joints are cheap and readily available everywhere. The OEM units are around $150 and on backorder.

What was the tariff cost on that? Just curious.
This round? Absolute zero. In Canada we are almost guaranteed to get the 12% tax on import, and technically a 8.5% duty on non-CUSMA automotive stuff. Usually my stuff coming in from the west coast via mail service slides through with tax but with no extra duties, but this time they didn’t charge me any tax either. I’m baffled as to why, since it would’ve been in excess of $500 owing if it was done by the book. I felt like I won the lottery.

I had an order come in from the UAE through DHL, and they play it by the book on tax/duty, so I paid up at the 18.5% plus their small processing fee. Luck of the draw sometimes.

That's awesome! Happy for you. I know lots of people here in the US that are paying huge amounts for parts like that right now. @twicks69

But I was clearly told, repeatedly, that American's aren't paying the tariffs! It's only other countries! /sarcasm

But at least we'll get a tariff check. I'll put it in the same account as my DOGE check. (also sarcasm)

Alright, alright, let's not take this down a path where we'll have bickering. I'll delete my messages if needed, as that wasn't my intent.

I figured it was fair game. I'm as based as they come so if I'm throwin' stones then others can come at me. :p But you're right.

I've watched those types of debates (and trolling) kill off participation in other forums in recent years, so I'd prefer to keep it out of here. We're already dealing with a car platform that is ancient and social media dopamine addiction hurting our chronicling efforts for this platform. No need to throw in another reason for people to move on and/or tune out. Know what I mean?

I didn't know that these were a thing until i seen this fusible link on a a 240 on instagram. This is out of a evo x. I had a local who wanted to use it on his car when he moved the battery to the back. I think it looks nice. I made a bracket to mount it in back of the fuse box. If i ever have to re do mine for whatever reason i'll probably switch over to one of these.

Only safe space left Chris. Thank you for your efforts.
Not everyone agrees with my position on this, and I fully appreciate their perspective. All I can say is that it's likely kept a lot of discussions a little cleaner over the years than if I'd allowed it to go on unchecked, the way I've seen in other forums. And it's not like there's a shortage of outlets for those debates/arguments to take place just about everywhere online.

On topic, I got my fresh 6 bolt block back. It just needs final cleaning then assembly (additional parts required). :)
It will be a "winter' project for me. I got my fall V8 project running. 🤞👍
