TD05H 20g - Pro's and Cons?

Im looking at this MHI TD05 20g turbo.

What are the pro's and cons on this turbo? Been looking to upgrade my small 16g for a while and came across this 20g.

just go td06 20g the only advantage it has is it looks like a 16g LOL. and probably performs pretty close to your 16g LOL
 
I've been saving to buy that exact turbo with the exception of having a 10cm^3 housing instead of a 7. The compressor and 20g cold housing are supposed to support 500 horses with the exception being in the restriction of the tiny turbine housings restricting exhaust. Now i'm no expert on mitsu turbos so there's more things i'm not remembering ( i'm more familiar with garretts ) But the 20g wheel is a great "classic" IMO, sure the technology is 20 years old but she still pulls great.

with the td05 instead of say a tdo6 is that you're going to have less potential becaise of the restrictions in the housings of the turbo it's self. so it's going to fall off up top where more airflow is critical, but where it will shine is down low on the streets when you punch is and the spool comes on just a tad later than a big 16g but the power hits way harder and pulls a lot further with the tdo5 falling off before a tdo6 would. ( the evo 16g's seem to rival the 20 pretty well, but i'd take the larger 20 over the evo 16 anyday just because it's not working as hard to do it)

Hope that give you a basic idea of what you were looking for, but take it from me... If you've got a way to tune, the fuel system to support it, the 20g is quite the competitor on the streets where broad power bands make a large difference over peak top end. I'm not saying street racing but in everyday street use pulling away from idiots at the light and using a little less pedal for the same results is always nice :D Plus the added top end pull over a 16g is well worth it. I honestly would lvoe to try the new 20g-tdo6-SL@ or whatever it is. bastard_dsm made 445 horses on one in his galant and i imagine the 20g in the same variation might do some nice things as well :) All i'm shooting for is a daily driven 425 - 450 horses and i think a 20g will fit the bill just fine and give me the braodest power band to do so (with the exceptiopn of some hx 35's and 40's but i have my reasons to not use them and stick with the smaller 20g)

anyway, that's my thoughts on the pro's and con's of said turbo
 
get the 20g 6sl2 ffrom FP. It's better flowing than the 5h, and not as laggy as the 6.

If you're looking at a $1000 turbo though, it might be more worthwhile to look into the FP bolt on turbos. Something like the 3052 might be right up your alley.

I would think the FP turbos might be too big for what he wants. It also adds the cost of a new o2 as well as external gate now too. Much more then just the turbo cost at that point.
 
This 20g im looking at only has about 500 miles and the guy is asking 300 shipped for it. I was looking into getting the tdo6 but its way out of my budget range.

My goal for my car is 350 to 400HP and im setting it up for road racing. So pretty much the lower end power is all that im looking for on a turbo.:thumb:
