I have a couple of questions
I just installed an after market oil gauge. (Mechanical) I have it right into the filter housing. Been working on this car for a while got it running when it starts I get about 60psi then when it’s warm it gets below 11 even the oh crap light flickers still have to get my rpm gauge to work to get a rpm reading I put 5w30 mobile 1 full synthetic in it but I need to know how long the dip stick is supposed to be on 4g63 I barely put 4 qrts when I did the change and it is way over my marks any one out there that measure there dip stick for me and what oil are y'all using? Thanks

I put 4 qrts of 10w30 and it is way over my dip stick marks and yes I drained it drip dry before I added new oil. The dip stick is measured and 18 inches metal only is that correct?

IIRC if 2g's dipstick, it should be approxi 18" "from" the plastic part where contacts the top of the tube (the bottom of stopper). If you measured it 18" only the metal stick part, then probably it's about one inch longer than it should.

I remember this because I had this issue at the first day when I got my 2g. The previous owner had put a longer dipstick and I didn't know. While I was bringing back the car to my shop, sometimes the oil pressure warning light came on in curves or slope. The oil level was between the OK range on the dipstick but when I drained the oil, it came out only about 2 qt and I found the dipstick was longer.

Just buy a new 2g OEM one and check this box off if you have the correct stick.

Many factors in low oil pressure to guess, bearings, gauge accuracy, oil weight and pan level, oil pump etc etc.
