2G Oil pressure "issue"

Hi!
Im having weird problem with cold start oil pressure. Car idles fine, my electrical aftermarket oil pressure gauge reads normal but suddenly drops few seconds to zero and back to normal. Dummy light does not come on however. It happens couple of times until engine is warm and wont happen again. Im wondering has anyone ever got this sort of oilpressure related issue that was actually mechanical problem? I suspect there is something wrong with oilpress gauge sending unit but its weird that it only happen with cold starts. My only oil mod is pretty much external oil cooler.

Just looking for some ideas if anyone has faced this sort of thing!

Where is the sensor installed? Combination of cold-start high oil pressure and vibrations may be causing the sensor to malfunction.

When I had my mtx-l sensor mounted to the OFH, it would read pressure erratically, and eventually I had to replace the sensor as it quit reading correctly altogether.

I find the sensors running of the oil sandwich adapter are inaccurate and seem to have weird electrical issues.

Yep im running sensor mounted to the OFH.
I think i have spare sensor im going to try tomorrow and inspect wiring is ok. Thank you for this input!!

This is most likely due to engine vibrations damaging them. This was my case, so I remote mounted all of my sending units for gauges, haven't had an issue since.

If the wiring is good, I would look into remote mounting your sensors to limit the vibrations and heat they are subjected to. It will prolong their life and only help to increase accuracy.
