Just little trips here and thereThis.
Im around Chicago, so the fun times can be very limiting from year to year. Roads get heavily salted so I usually only get a guarantee of about May to November and then along with my job demanding a lot of my time, knock that down to weekends and vacations. Luckily i ended up with a girl that also likes to cruise, so that i never had to have any battles to get time behind the wheel.
But every time I turn the key, its the same instant smile on my face since the day I was car shopping with my mom at a Mazda lot back in 1992 when I was 14, came across a 1G for the first time and the salesman let me sit in car and start it. Its always my Eleanor moment.
and every time i go across the border to the Indiana car meets, theres no less than 5 people waiting for me to get out of the car so they can talk about it, whether its to tell me hey are surprised to see a running DSM or relive their own memories of owning one. So theres the social aspect that the car gives me too.
Im just going to throw this out there cause it does happen to me sometimes.... Are you scared to drive the car? Meaning, that you put so much work into getting it running.. and now that its in a managable state, theres a little bit of paranoia that something else will break and you would just not be able to mentally handle hiccup right now...so you find yourself avoiding?
Not scared to drive the car, just kind of dread new things popping up. I also don’t want to have to fight to keep it alive. Like if it dies at a stoplight it’s so embarrassing being stuck there waiting for it to restart.
Now that I think about it that may be the main thing that holds me back is how hard I have to concentrate on keeping it from dying. If it would just immediately restart it wouldn’t bug me but man. It’s a bear to get this thing restarted.
Guess I need to get off my ass and redo the tune properly so that issue is gone.
Fb marketplace is a joke... ive posted rare e30 parts and get told its not worth anything when Ive seen them sell for more. Makes me want to post videos of me torching the parts or dropping them off at the dump. This came in today. Yaaay.

I actually was trying to find the older model of TruBoost but all I could honestly find was the TruBoostX. Ah well. I'm gonna just plan on this thing not lasting, so I'm gonna keep the AEM Digital boost gauge I have in reserve. So when this thing dies, I'll swap back to the boost gauge and use the MAC valve from AEM and have ECMLink control the boost. I'll enjoy it until it dies though! The recall function that shows peak boost will be nice.
Also: I swear I don't know why I bother trying to sell parts anywhere but here. Every single time I put it on facebook people ignore the plain text in the ad either on purpose, or because they're all water-heads and then I put it on DSMTuners like an afterthought, and it sells immediately without hassle. Old Hallman Evo RX is going to a good home/member here.
I am trying my best to resist light-heartedly roasting the member who bought it though. Peak irony!

Is this what you’re looking for?

Yah drove mine like it was a ski-doo in Maine. At least the first one I did. This one never got the chance much. She’ll have a much tamer future.Man, I miss my snow queen. 80mph in the snow and that thing refused to slide.

Have you tried making any of the changes we discussed?Still hard to restart, but that's not a new problem. 100% tune related.

Can you remind a senile old man what changes you mean? (full disclosure I 100% mean to completely restart on the tune from scratch, not sure if that factors or not)The turbo noises are the best. I got my wife to ride with me finally (she hates and is scared of my carGod I adore the noises this thing makes. It takes work and hair on your chest to drive this thing without letting it die, but it's so enjoyable when it's cool out and there's no one in front of you. For some reason though my windshield is staying perpetually dirty. Florida problems, I guess.
But yeah. Swear one of these days I need to capture the turbo noises. But with a manual trans, trying to keep it on the road, and trying to keep it from dying...no clue how I'd manage that. Might just put my phone on a little phone holder and record the hood. Lol. No idea how I'd get an in car view.
But yeah, it made it to the store and back with almost no issues. Still hard to restart, but that's not a new problem. 100% tune related. So I'm gonna drive it to work tomorrow and Thursday probably unless I change my mind. It needs 500 miles so I can do an AWD launch.
) and she made a video for me. I love the way mine sounds. Still dialing in but still fun.
IDK where you got that from, it was clearly crossed out.
Don't judge me. No kink shaming. Neanderthal.
Can you upload a log? I don’t feel like going through the thread to look for oneNo. I can't remember what changes we discussed. Can you remind a senile old man what changes you mean?
And are you back on sd? I don’t remember Never heard anything good about the innovates. Recently it's AEM series x or bust.Innovate wideband sensor died today. Less than 300 driven miles, and less than 6 months old. It’s like 18” from the turbo, not mounted improperly.
I’m ordering another sensor and if this one doesn’t last then I’m selling this pos and switching to the AEM Series X.

Are you using a relay to power it?Innovate wideband sensor died today. Less than 300 driven miles, and less than 6 months old. It’s like 18” from the turbo, not mounted improperly.
Makes me sad. I really don’t wanna have to rewire the gauges AGAIN. Lol.
If I switch to the aem wideband I’m gonna say screw it and just swing for the x series water temp gauge too so they all match.
Are you using a relay to power it?
Somewhere in this forum I talked about how daily driving with my innovate mtxl killed sensors every 3 days. I dont know why everyone thinks they are the bees knees but I switched to cheapy prosport and never had another issue.Screw it, I just went ahead and bought both. Not gonna keep messing with replacing the sensors. We’ll see what happens with the X series stuff. At least it’ll all match now. Woot.
No.
