Looks like a real race car TKW#13 (what's your name anyway, put it in your sig!).

Reminds me of a World Challenge car. I always thought about doing white wheels on my car so that it matched the body color but white wheels immediately reminds me of all the old "race" Hondas that drove around town and never set a tire on the track.

It does look like some of the old World Challenge cars. Hopefully you are on the track with it and not like the Honda "race" cars Chris is talking about :D Good luck with it man.

I'd highly highly suggest you do a little research on the fwd to awd conversion on a 1g. The general consensus from tuners and owners is that this is no where near worth the amount of custom fabrication and money involved.

The rear subframe is not at all similar to the awd's and even the front is different to a pretty good degree. If I remember right the center support that houses the front motor mount takes up the exact space in which the transfer case needs to be mounted. It's near on impossible and unless you're a top notch (and I truly mean top notch) fabricator you'd be much much better off buying an awd car to begin with. If you're dead set on wrapping the enormous amounts of time and money into this and think you have the skills to redo the entire engine, suspension and floorboard of your talon then go for it, but I'd contact RRE as they're the only people in the community who've ever done it and that was long long ago.

I have been under there on both side by side, and it does not look to be an easy task. I do hear what you are saying, which is why it is a furtur mod so we can enjoy the Talon after its 3 yr stint under the knife. My basic thoughts, is if it was a staright forward swap, more would have done it, and not quite worth me trying to tackle it :D. If I decide to go this route, I will be sure to document it all.

If I were you I'd swap it into something really fun like a Colt or something. Same amount of work and far more interesting result. Plus it's lighter. Otherwise you'll have to explain to everyone why your car is different from their GSX just because you put it together when in the end they'll have a faster car with the same time and money involved.

An awd Colt would be fun as hell though :D.

Selling my 1990 ramcharger and my 95 acura ricetegra so I can purchase a 2g to keep my 1g company (already sold my cbr f3) :sneaky:

Well my winter project is coming along much better than I had anticipated. The body work from the accident is almost done. Right now i am in the middle of pulling my motor apart to replace all the gaskets and seals. I'm porting my 2g manifold, turbo, o2 housing, and intake manifold. Once i'm done with that, i'll reassemble the motor, throw on a new water pump and timing belt, new clutch and i'm good to go! It should be about another week or two.

Had some time today to go out and work on the car.

Ported O2 housing:

Well I will try to post some pics up here soon. So far this winter I've installed 850cc FIC Injectors, Aeromotive afpr and stainless line, walboro 255hp and a moates ostrich (socketed myself I might ad :rocks:). These last three days I've been installing the budget punishment racing fmic, which looks good but is a pain to install, hopefully that will be finished tonight. Also looking at installing a 3 inch turbo back exhaust and then it is off to suspension land. I'm looking at making a quick 14b car for the summer with a bigger turbo coming next winter. I am going to try to do an E85 tune as well and get some dyno #s from the 14b on e85 but that won't be till summer.

The biggest project this winter is fixing all of the oil leaks... :notgood:

Well I do not have any pictures of what I have been doing. Just little stuff really. Changed to 4 ply pure silicone couplers (boost leak), new gaskets on manifold to turbo and manifold to block. Like I said, nothing too big, just some maintenance and fixes for this weekends event in the series. Only 2 more rounds to go, then the negine is coming out and all kinds of goodies are going in over a 4-5 month period.

Andy - how do you like that fp mani? I am head buttin' between a fp mani or a ported evo3 mani for my 14b.

Well, I have not drove the car yet with the FP mani, but so far the quality looks good, and I have heard nothing but good things about the manifold. After I get the car all up and in good running order (hopefully in a month or so) I will be taking the car to the dyno so i can get some good tuning time. I'll be sure to show my graphs then.
