So the addition of the wheels and warm weather has resurrected my winter project progress. I was able to put some time in the garage and was able to finish the front splitter horizontal and vertical pieces. Now I just need to reinforce the APR splitter bars with a structural support piece instead of just attaching to the bumper cover, and putting a finishing edging material around the lip. The angle aluminum provided much more rigidity plus it will straighten out some airflow under the car.

Picked up some Kosei K1-TS's in immaculate condition tonight. The guy just used them for autox. They have 255/40/17 Advan 032R's mounted on them that he insists are dead, but have 2/32" tread left.

I think these were a much wiser purchase. At the very least, I can see how well a 255 fits.

Sweet wheels! Almost picked those up as well. Love the double needle design. Got around to finishing up the splitter. Only thing left is to support the alluminum channel inside the bumper that the support rods are mounted to. Going to use steel cable and attach eye bolts to the upper bumper support near where the factory latch mechanism used to be. All said and done total weight is 18 lbs with all the hardware etc.

Thanks for posting the weight on the splitter. That's pretty light. I'm really interested to hear how well it performs.

Very nice, I really like those wheels. My buddy has a set for sale, but they're only 8" wide

I don't have the time or the place to really undertake what I would have liked to do this spring.


And maintenance is sucking my wallet dry quick. I've done 2 wheel bearings, an axle, and a control arm in the last 2 weeks. I really need to get it inspected, and it's going to need an alignment. Boooo money.

What's an alignment cost for you? If you want to come down here, I could do one with a corner balance for a reasonable price

I think the local Firestone charges $85 or something like that after all the taxes.

But first, I need to check and see if my rear toe arm bolts are seized.

I just bought a set of EVO 8 Enkies today! 17x8" compared to my current 17x6.5" Dodge Avenger rims. Now I just have to save up for the 245/40/17 RS-3's.

Good luck getting RS-3's any time soon. Tirerack says 5/4 at the earliest.

I had no idea they were backordered. It won't be a rush, even once I'm ready to purchase. My BFG's are still getting the job done and have lots of life left. I am excited that I'm one step closer to wider, stickier tires though.

Just learned about this guy from my last track day. John Berget Racing Tires He gets used race tires and sells them at extreme discounts. Just picked up a set of Hoosier road race slicks in a 265/630/17 for less than a single tire new, and they have full rubber. Worth the inquiry.

He's a friend of a friend. He's pretty anxious to sell. He came down quite a ways. $1200 would probably get the Advans. I'll take the tires and get you down into the $900 territory for the set.

It's actually pretty wide, the top down photo gives it the optical illusion of being narrow but its not.
