I wanna do a auto setup in my 2g bad but just haven't been able to commit, plus i got a nice 5spd trans waiting to go in when the builds done as is.

My plan for boost control is boost by gear with link v3, should work out good.

Why does your username and car say 97 Talon Tsi when you have a Pic of an EVo7 for your avatar pic??
 
I love my 2g auto fwd, it feels solid and no miss shifts while holding boost through all gears.
 
I hate to say this, but one thing honda got right is the equal lenth axles compared to the dsm fwd axles, I forget all the big words but I can tell you a 600hp fwd talon is not as fun as the 600hp fwd honda, due to there drivetrain. From what I have seen this proves my theory, but you can make make it work oviously with some slicks and lsd, but in the long run I have seen hondas grab so much better then dsms.
 
having owned a FWD that was really built engine and trans wise 438hp/396 lb/ft running through a now for sale TRE stage 2 trans with quaife LSD. I can truely say an AWD is the most boring thing to drive at the same power levels, once you've got a FWD with a good LSD and good shifting trans and start doing some 3rd gear pulls and realize your white knuckling to hold the car in the center of two lanes, holding on for dear life, you get a rush like no other.. In AWD (i'm now an AWD swap) 1-2 are pretty fun cause there;s no spin) but other than that it's too calm, and boring for me.. even with more WHHP than i had in FWD mode i feel like i'm drivinga lot less agressive car. there's a trued thrill to piloting a bad ass FWD that i can say for sure

You need a smaller turbo. The hx35 setups got enough hit to them that at 450whp mine will get loose in second gear.

I do miss the FWD days tho, the car was soooo much simpler, and quieter.
 
Have you made a pass with the auto yet? Do you know anyone else who runs autos in their fwd 2g? What's done to your tranny?

my buddy had an awd 2g 6 bolt swapped with a gt35r and it pulled hard in first and second but definatly got boring after that. fwd drive is more fun on the street but drag racing is all about the traction, thats why awd, auto is the way to go. this summer my project should be finished and on the strip, fwd, 5 speed, stroked, 6 bolt, hx 35. im worried about traction but i cant wait to see what it will do.
And shorty, that thing is sick :hellyeah:
 
I'll pop in this thread as a long time FWD owner, DSM and non. Traction is the biggest PITA for us it's not funny. My SC'd Cobalt could run 12's with DR's or slicks if the axle/trans would have taken it on very minimal mods(about 270whp) I give all you FWD guys props for the fast cars, but I won't miss torque steer anymore :)

Looks good. Im going the with kiggly adapter kit and just the IPT valvebody/shiftkit. Im gonna see how the stock transmission does for while. Im hoping the stock converter wont hold me down from stalling up with nitrous.
 
I'll be making my 1st pass on the s362 setup tomm. , hopefully all goes well and the car doesnt break.....:pray:
