Damn i need to get my slicks and get a differential so i can show all my AWD buddies up! that stuff is next on my list as soon as i finish building this head and my twin scroll 7 blade hx35 setup. my awd buddies are already in the 11.5 range so i got to do some catching up!

Went to the local 1/8th of a mile track yesterday trying out the clutch i just put in last weekend and it did really good. I ran my best so far an 8.3 @89mph with a 2.0 60 ft. I was on 24lbs of boost. I'm running hoosier QTP's and still not able to get under 2.0 60ft. does anyone have anytips to get under that? I was launching at 4750. We tried tire pressure at 13 and 10psi. Both got me a 2.0.
Im going to be going back to the track this coming thursday hopefully with some tips to get a little faster. Let me know if you guys have any tips.
Thanks

I saw this run, that was my buddy's EVO 9 in the far lane that I helped tune. Car sounded mean as shit man and moved out well. To me it sounds like you should try and slip the clutch a little more out of the hole. I'm usually at Irwindale with my car every thursday (if it's not broken) hit me up next time. :thumb:

I think I saw your car that day where you in the red 1g?
It was my first time out with that clutch, basically my first time driving it. Lol. Next time I definatly slip the clutch some more. Ima try to make it out to irwindale this Thursday. See you there.

My small update finally got some slicks. Thanks for the advice richard33. Going to run them for July races next weekend, hoping to see some mid 12 passes. Sadly I once agian will probably be the only dsm. My buddy with the gsx might come and run but we have been trying to get his head to seal up properly. If we do he will run, and that will be the first time ever that two dsm's will be at the track LOL.

Im still having a accelerating problem with mine. Im flowing 53 lbs/min on 93oct and its taking me 2.6 sec to get from 70 to 90 mph....very frustrating. Hopfully I can get to the track next friday for some slow passes.

^^^that depends on the gear and turbo. If it's lag, then no wonder. My Evo on the 6262 in 5th gear would have probably taken me longer then that.

The rims are close to stock they are 16"x7" with a bit more offset. I got them from my friend with the gsx. The slicks are Hoosier gtp 26x9.5x16, same as richard33 uses. They really fit on the car well, even with the car lowered although I did raise the front 1\4" just to be on the safe side. I am not using tubes. Will make my first pass on them this coming friday.

Thats 3rd gear and im at full boost before hiting 70 mph...its an unfindable problem. Ill post a log next time I go to the track.

congrats man finally gots some LOL... well never used mine i had them ready in the setrunk but never got the chance now my awd is ready so no use now maybe nathan will use them for a run or two so i can check them out :D

We did some testing last week in one of our mirages.

Coasted to a 12.0@110
Coasted to a 12.4@109
And had issues with tire spin and the 2-3 and 3-4 shift-12.1@117

Looking to go mid 11's at our current low boost once third gear is repaired. All at 5800ft above sea level.

Good luck man. If they don't hook keep lowering the tire pressure. You should be fine though.

Thanks bro, I'm getting stoked to finally get some use outta 1st and 2nd gear LOL. Ya I thought I'd start the pressure at around 16psi then go down from there. I know you said you run them at 10psi, but I'm deffinetly not making the power you are yet. So they are giving us Friday to test and tune and then we have the whole weekend to race. I'll let you all know but last year espn came out and broadcast the races. Would be sick if they came out again this year. It's a pretty big deal for Hawaii, guys even come from other islands to race on our track. You guys might get to see two Hawaii Dsm's race LOL. Anyway I'll post some vid's of my best runs. I'll let you know if espn comes out and when the races will show on espn.

With my 90 Laser completely stock with exception to spark plugs and a MBC at 15psi, I had to drop my M/T 24.5" slicks down to 12psi. Anything higher and they still had a slight bit of wheel hop.

Well I went back to the track yesterday, I brought my best time down to a 12.7@110 :hellyeah: . This was with a 2.0 60ft. I still haven't been able to bring down the 60ft. I feel like its my suspension I feel a lot of squatting. The car was very consistent. I ran a total of 4 runs 3 of them were 12.7, and one was a 13 because the vacuum line to the FPR came off.
Here's some videos enjoy. If you see something I could do to help me get quicker im all ears.

What rpm are you launching at and what is your tire pressure set at? Do you drop the clutch or ride it out a little bit? And do you preload using the e-brake or just take off? If you ran a 12.7 on a 2.0 60', a low 1.8 60' should get you down into the 12.3-12.4 second territory.

For the squatting issue, you can buy spring limiters that will help with the squatting. They basically just fit beween two coils on your springs and keep them from squatting, so you only get partial squatting from the other coils...or your could get the KYB AGX shocks (not sure what you have). Those with some stiff springs and the shocks set on full stiff would work great as well.

I tried different tire pressures that day from about 6.5 to 10 psi. As well as different rpms started at 5250 and worked down to 4500 I think. I wasn't sure if going higher would help me? So I left it for last but didn't get enough time for it. I try to ride the clutch for the first couple feet. When I do let out all the clutch I do get some wheelspin. I don't know if I should slip the clutch longer. I preload the drivetrain with the handbrake. Yeah if I could get to a 12.3 that would be my goal for the car but I can't get that 60ft down for some reason.

I have tokico hp I think (the blue ones) with eibach awd springs. I was looking for the spring limiters but I could not find them locally. Which springs would you recommend with they kyb agx. I might get some of those. And I only need those in the back correct?
Thanks for the help.
