a garrett with a DSM bolt on housing, look up some of the numbers on the cold side and see if google has any hints to what it may be.

Also, from doing a quick search for you i yielded to find an exact turbo it is you need to remove the compressor cover and measure the wheel, that will also get you what trim it is.

First please let me say this: I know this is my first post, so please understand that I haven't met all the probationary posting requirements otherwise I'd have this under Turbo System Tech. I do regularly spend time here lurking for information, the forum is very helpful & professional. I would post much more often, but I don't have a DSM. By the way, I did use the search function. :)

I recently purchased an ancient Schwitzer Turbo and wanted to know if you fellows could help me identify this model & get me a compressor map. The plate on the compressor reads 1964. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Serial Number: 3LD-305/H0272-100
Part Number: 11663392

I will admit that this turbo has a rather peculiar turbine housing, you should see this in the pictures.

i picked up this setup from a friend who had it on his 2g, he got rid of his 2g and kept it for this 1g but never got the 1g running so i decided to buy from him for cheap. the name of the brand peeled off when i was cleaning it and didnt get to read it .the logo was green whit white letters .Does any one have a opinion on what brand this turbo may be its a external wastegated wt3t4 says 63ar on the turbine but has no markings on the compressor side. i try runing the serial number on google but nothing comes up which is wierd.

Some sort of military-issue Schwitzer used on larger military trucks. It's 1960's technology....you'll never find a compressor map, nor should you ever consider using this on a DSM.

I agree. The Turbo cover is an E housing cover(what some call it), however, the wheel behind that cover can be a number of difference sizes. The E cover is defined as a 3" inlet and 2" outlet.

I know turbo was ordered straight from turbonetics web site and was not moded otherwise, so what's the smallest and largest wheel that could be in there?

I don't know crap about Turbos but anything from a 50 trim wheel up to a 61mm 35R wheel. Really, you won't even get close answers to what you are looking for, can be way too many different wheels/setups. If it was ordered straight from them, didn't you know what you ordered? Or whoever ordered it?

Do I have to take apart the turbo Or just take some closser pics of the wheel ? Most ebay turbo have letters on the compressor housing but this one dosent which is why I'm not sure if is an ebay turbo
 
T04E54 or E57 with a giant, oversized O-Trim or P-Trim turbine. Too much turbine flow for that small of a compressor wheel on a gas engine....the result will be tons of lag for only 48-50 lb/min of airflow.

So no good for 400 whp goals?
 
Not if you don't mind full boost around 5000 rpms.

I can think of hundreds of choices that will get you to your horsepower goal with drastically-reduced spool times and much better fitment than the 1.00 a/r T4 housing attached to your example.
 
i'm also about to get my hands on a hy-35 and a hx-35..and a gt 3788 dunno which one yet..

HX-35 is a great turbo.

As Justing can confirm, I run a Garrett T3-TO4E 50 trim with BEP .55 a/r back housing, love the spool, love the pull. Great turbo and easily capable of 400whp. Look into it.

I just have to find a t3 flanged manifold on the classifieds for sale.. my buddy owed me a favor. I know own a T04E54 and a HX-35:sneaky:
