What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

I came across a to4b25 Turbocharger. It is for a diesel, cause it has a huge 1.15 Exhaust side, but the Compressor side is a to4b25 with and AR of .60

I want to mate this up to a Bullseye Turbine Housing, can it be done? What "trim" turbo is this? Cause Im pretty bad at figuring this stuff out.

Can anybody help me?

It has a plate on the compressor side that reads A Serial Number of IHM091956 and a Part Number of 409770-5019

t04b25

It also read "m-24" on the compressor housing.

What is this...it's BRAND NEW

Does it have any Holset markings on it? The 409770-5019 part number in a Google search came up with this website: http://www.scheiddiesel.com/case_ih.htm which makes me think the turbo is off of a Cummins (owns Holset) or Iveco diesel engine since those are the two engine manufacturers CaseIH uses for their "larger" engines. However, also searching Google with the t04b25 shows a number of Garrett related links.

It's a GARRETT turbo, has garrett written in bold letters on it. Has a 3" Inlet. Anybody know anything about this t04b25...what does the 25 mean?

You have to remove the housings and measure the wheels, there's no other way to do it.

Okay, what exactly do I need to do. I am very mechanically inclined..just need some guidance. I can remove the turbine housing.

Then what exactly should I measure?

I also got more info on that it is a NAVISTAR turbo...

You'll need to remove the compressor housing and turbine housing. Then measure the inducer and exducer of the wheels.

Hope this pic works better.

So when I bought the car, the guy says it has a 50trim. Hes lied about alot of other stuff, so I didn't take his information very seriously. I could tell it wasnt the stock t25 or anything so I didn't care all that much since I got it for fairly cheap. I finally took the time to take off the intake and measure the diameter. Not quite 3" but more then 2.75". It was 2 7/8". I am assuming that its close enough to 3" to be considered 3". Attached is a pic, there are no identifying marks.

looks like a 50 variant to me. Couldn't tell you what kind though. I can't tell from the pic, but is there anything printed on the compressor cover?

I cant see much on the exhaust manifold side but I see nothing at all on the intake side. All the couplers are from Forced Performance.

Yeah it's deifnitely a 50 trim or something as big as one. It could be a bullseye or a PTE.

I'm planning on turboing my 420a and got offered a turbo for 175 bucks

I am completely clueless on how to id it.. I will give as much info as I know how to, and if you need more tell me how to decipher it.. The only markings on it are "Garrett A/R .80 M 24".. The compressor blades are five sets of two blades. The other side has eleven blades.

Please help this newb out.

Picures are always helpful, but measuring the wheels is the only way to know.

ok so an evo owner is selling this on ebay. but the ad says its t3/t4. I'm not a guru on the turbo subject but I know for a fact that this isnt one of those. I searched for tdo5hr but didnt get too many results. basically i wanna know what kinda turbo this is and would buyin it be worthwhile?

That is a stock evo 8 turbo ... its not really worth the buy because you would have to mount the turbo in the oppisite direction due to the fact that the scroll pattern is in the oppisite direction of exhaust flow ... there was a site were a guy did put this turbo on a 1g but i cant seem to find it maybe someone else has it and can post it up.

Not quite, It is a turbo from a 2005 Evo VIII. but its definately not stock. It doesnt have the twinscroll 10.5 hotside like its suppose to have and for some reason the compressor housing is facing the wrong way. I wouldnt buy it.

stock evo 8 turbo. They dont bolt up to our engines just like talon1987 said. They flow differently and not to mention, the compressor housing faces opposite to what the eclipse compessor housings sit at.

Yes, I know I have an Evo. This turbo isnt set up to fit an Evo. Here's a pic of a stock Evo turbo. Compare for yourself.

I was told it's a Garrett T3/T4, but after that I'm clueless. There's no markings on the compressor housing, as they've all been shaved off.

It's not very big, and it has a mitsu adapter flange as well as a custom O2 housing.

That looks to me like a garrett t28. Not a t3/t4. The turbine housing from that angle doesnt look like that of a t3, and that certainly isn't a t4 compressor housing.

*edit* after taking a further look at the pictures, I didn't think garrett used v-bands for their turbines at all, bolts only. I'm guessing it's not even a full garrett if one at all.

*2x edit* That actually looks like a mitsu turbo.

Looks to me to be a XS Engineering 16g killer. I'm about 90% sure of it. It is an oil cooled ball bearing turbo with a similar efficiency to a s16g. It is based on a IHI turbo.

hmmm that is a stange one.

looks like T04B comp cover, mitsu center section due to the clamp band, and i got no clue what the exhuast housing is.

I'm betting it's some kind of a special brew hybrid.
