What did you do to your DSM today?

I LOVE your pedal tractor. Mine from the '60s is still at my mom's, on the farm (it needs new tires and paint/decals).
I need to drive my Talon to the GAS station to pickle the injectors for the winter. She has about 1/4 tank of E in her.

Found some fog lights for $50. Brackets, lenses, and OEM Osram bulbs. Tossed them in today and was stoked to find the stock wiring is not only all still there, but it all works too.

Stoked. Now that I know it all works I’m gonna shine the lenses up crystal clear and throw in some bright white LEDs.

My HVAC controls weren't lighting up, so I replaced the bulbs with some I found off of Amazon, and they worked great! Full write-up in my build thread HERE. This was the result.

Matches the gauge cluster perfectly, and the bulbs I used were actually 3mm tiny ones instead of the 4.7/5mm bulbs that it calls for. And these weren't LEDs either! Stoked for an $8 fix. You could easily do this same thing with colored LEDs and turn all these lights whatever color you wanted. Blue, Green, Red, White, etc.

Got the 3 switch dual cup holder revisions done, now it can join production. Space is tight with still no mods to the console, well other than adding more wires for the switches and still a snap fit.

Did that gas strut mod for the hood the other day. Good way to spend 30 bucks. Ordered adjustable rear upper and lower control arms, going to have the trailing arms sand blasted and powder coated. New sub frame is prepped and ready to go in. Rust is the bane of my existence.

Upgraded my foglights from the OEM Halogens to the LEDs. I did a bunch of research making sure these didn't go over 30 watts because the OEM H3 bulbs for these housings call for 37w bulbs max. These use like 16w when running. Woot.

Install was super easy too. Cut the OEM bullet connector off, and crimp/adhesive lined marine grade heat-shrink a female spade connector in its place. Easy peasy. If these aren't bright enough they sell a "16,000 lumen" H3 LED bulb that draws more wattage, but honestly I'm gonna keep it real...these are mainly for decoration. The headlights alone are way more than enough to see even in heavy rain or fog. Lol.

400AWHP daily driver street car things. ❤️❤️

Me again. This was always the plan, but after reading horror stories on the OEM phillips head fog light mounting screws(fog light to bracket), I changed out the brand new stainless phillips head with maybe 4 tightening/loosenings on them(pictures below, they're already starting to wear!) for some Allen head bolts.

Result was way better, and the allen head socket I have for my ratchet( size 4 ) fit these SUPER tight with no wiggle room. Was able to hand tighten these bad boys down perfectly and I'm way more confident these won't strip AS EASILY as the phillips head will. Past me/current me looking out for my boy Future Me. Love you bro. 😘

I love how flush they fit. I was also very careful tightening these down as I didn't want to crack the lenses. Was able to use an extension in place of a screwdriver handle and get them perfectly. Very happy I did this.

Wins and losses this past weekend. Installed energy suspension bushings on the lower control arm and trailing arm. Also installed a whiteline rear sway bar. Tried to install a big brake kit using C5 calipers and cobra rotors but the barrel of the 3g 17” wheels narrows in and hits the caliper. I’ll have to find different wheels to make this kit work.

I put 5 gallons of GASOLINE in the Red 90 Talon to pickle her for the winter. I fired her up on E, then used a battery powered pump to put the gas in as she ran. She did great and was up to temp, so I stood on the 5300 rpm 2 step, for the last time this year. :thumb:
I may be moving that up to 5700 next year, shhhh 🤫

How do you like the red and gold combination? (The car is not finished yet)

It's your car and you should do what you makes you happy and looks good to you, but I think you'll find that most people find it to not be very nice looking when someone paints a bunch of random stuff a contrasting color. Using a standard spray paint doesn't help either because it doesn't look like a professional finish. At the very least I would recommend finishing parts off with a coat of clear coat.

I moved to the U.S. and brought my classic car restoration business with me. Since the Eclipse has always been my favorite car, I decided to start working with youngtimers and build a restomod Eclipse to test how much interest there is in this kind of project here.

I’ve rebuilt the car down to the last bolt, so I decided to go the extra mile and repaint all the small details that usually get left rusty.

The thing is, I haven’t fully figured out the U.S. market and its taste yet, so I’d really appreciate your advice — what do you guys think, and in which category or community would it be best to share this kind of build?

DSM are very popular here. Restoration of old cars is a huge part of american culture. You will find brand loyalty a major factor in the kind of restoration people look for. The domestic brands have classic car fans in every state, and JDM cars are also popular with a slightly younger croud. The challenge for the DSM community is the nature of the JDM/Domestic partnership with Chrysler (Jeep/Eagle) and Mitsubishi that dissolved after 1999 - so it's hard to find acceptance in either the domestic or JDM following. For those "in the know" about what these cars are - they represent a special niche of technology that dominated the street racing scene in the 90's and early 2000's

And they still do a good job against "Muscle" cars! 😎
Those guys hate it. Just 4 cylinders taking down hi HP muscle. They respect my DSM and no longer want to "play" 🙁😉😇
