Got my DSM up and running today! Scroll up and see I was trying to diagnose a no start. I jimmy'd up a jig to test my injectors on top of the valve cover and saw which ones were not firing.. Hit those a few times with my ratchets handle.. BOOM she started first crank!! OMGOSH!!! Im so stoked! I was mcguivering all the "diagnostics". Cam single good, crank signal.. CHECK.. Inj Pulse.. CHECK!! WTF NO STARTY?

Then I just thought to myself, the cars ran before on the same tune now way its the tune. So I checked the injectors.. and yup yup yup... It was surely 2 injectors were not firing.... Here is a log :)

Hey!! To be fair I did buy another set! I matched 2 good injectors from that set. And another 2 from my old set. That made 1 semi working set of 4! I was desperate.. The money was tight.. Its tighter now haha. But I am trying to source a stock evo 8/9 set. I think that would get me to my goal of 300hp. 350 would be nicer. s16g at somepoint.

Retired the old Amsoil filter it was collapsing in on itself. On went a Blox 6-4” vstack that I had laying around

Threw some Moog swaybar endlinks on since the old ones boots were torn.

Finished up the trans job last night. Filled it with Diaqueen this morning and I’m back on the road.

Went to a little Halloween trunk or treat meet for the kids. Made some fangs out of cardboard and double side taped them on LOL

Drove it to work. Wanted to see if this little bit of shielding would help the coolant temps. I feel like my upper hose was getting COOKED.

I bought that shielding for the oil feed and wideband wires it’s not wide enough for the hose so I just zip tied it on LOL Seemed to help a bit

2g dsm dual drink holder . No modifications needed.

God that's cool.

Could you design a single cup holder that goes in place of the 1G ash-tray? I feel like that'd be a solid enough spot...

Just about any container larger than a 12oz can will obstruct access and ability to easily shift gears. May work for those folks with automatics okay, though.

I had hope that maybe I could just grow an extra elbow and be fine, but you're right. Even with the center console lid open and using those "cup holders" a big enough cup gets in the way.

There's gotta be a fix here somewhere that's better than those horrible boomer-era cup holders that hang from the door window-sill.

I looked at the ash tray on a 1G after seeing some of @NWHTanK ’s work on the 2G. My very first step, try any container in place of the ash tray. Took me about 5 seconds of trying to drive with something there before it pissed me off and put that idea to bed.

I haven’t ever tried a stock cup holder that fits in the center console. I imagine it would be better (hence, why the engineers put it there to begin with), maybe not great great but better and at least something you can drive with. It sounds like your experience there says that’s not a great solution, either.

I might be able to help with a drink holder in the 1g but I would have to get some oem parts and some pictures . What I did with the 2g was sink the holder down another 50 mm . I could go farther down but that would involve cutting into the center console brace.

A regular soda fits just below the arm rest hieght.

I do have some ideas as to making the drink holder even bigger for the 2g . It would involve deleting the the hand operated parking brake , filling in that area to make the cup holder bigger and then go with a electronic parking brake. Then your spending alot more money to hold 2 bigger drinks. E brake setups start around 600 buck and go up from thier.

This is the constraint one would run into with a 1G. There is no insert to remove and replace like you did for the 2G. The ash tray comes out, sure, but the molded center console the ash tray sits in is right there. Without hacking out the bottom of the center console where the ash tray sits, there’s no additional space to be had. I don’t remember off the top of my head and didn’t bother looking into what you might run into underneath that, either.

I’m too partial to the “no modifications necessary” approach to look into it for that position any further.

That and there's a fairly big metal brace underneath the ash-tray where it actually bolts down on to. Probably way more trouble than it's worth, sadly. :(

I wonder if I could 3D print something and attach it to the middle console on the dash board. Like right next to the vents/hand controls.

What I do now is if the cup is low profile enough just put it in the center console and deal with it, or if it's styrofoam/closed container I just put it right in between me and the lap-belt buckle. It holds it tight there.

I'm OLD..... ROFL
This doesn't get in the way of shifting......but shifting usually ends up in some sort of "bath". 🤔

That's EXACTLY WHAT I WAS REFERRING TO! ROFL

Be careful about disparaging "Boomers"

They're 95% of my "clientele". I'm allowed to disparage as much as I want because I've picked so many up off the floor at 3am I finally got permission from one particularly nice boomer old lady to use the word as much I want.

Boomerly boomering boomers. :p

Absolutely nothing. I haven't touched it and have barely looked at it in the last several weeks. I'm still pulling 55-60 hour weeks at work. Still can't keep up. I was trying to be a nice guy and help a guy out with his car as well, but got basically no where and finally told him he was going to have to find someone else to help as I was just too busy.

I've been wanting to get the 3000GT up and maybe drive it to work one or two days, but haven't even had time for that.

Got to get through the next couple months and things should be back to normal.

They ride around with Budweiser in those down here…;)

Today.. Got the new fuel filter on, she was still a little hiccup'py but I wanted to address the alternator problem that was brought to my attention. It seems to be at 12.26 while running, and then at some points its all the way @ 15.7 volts. Wayyy OVERCHARGY. So I took the bad girl out, and I'm going to rebuild this one.. First one ever.. 90 AMP galant alt.

Today I bled the clutch, took her for one last drive, and put her away for the winter. 🙁
