What did you do to your DSM today?

Awhile back I adjusted the shifter cables and it fixed my 2nd gear lockout/grinding issue. When I did that, I adjusted the cable a little too "long" so 1st was extremely notchy. So today, I finally got around to adjusting the cable a single full turn shorter. Completely fixed the notchy first gear, and still allows me to shift into 2nd with no grinds.

Promptly did an AWD launch and a 1st through top of 2nd rip to celebrate. Launched good too, despite cold roads and cold tires inflated to like 35psi. Lol. Really need to hit up a drag strip, man.

Do you have any that are reasonably close? My closest is over an hour away and no E85 stations in between. :banghead:

There's two. One just closed down because they always wanted $60 to run on an 1/8th mile surface, the other is still open and is cheaper.

There's another one like 1.5 hours away in Gulfport that's actually 1/4 mile that I keep wanting to go to but never do.

I can go to Joplin MO (MoKan) or Tulsa OK. Tulsa seems busier than Joplin so I can get more runs in there on Test & Tune Fridays. The run off at the end isn't as long so I have to get on the binders pretty soon there though. Tulsa is longer. Both are over and hour away BUT, I can get E on the way to Tulsa and back. Both are about a hr and 20 minutes away.

managed to keep A/C with my front mount install. 🤘🏼

Man now that im in MO for a little I'll have to see if I can check one out. Always wanted to hit up a drag strip even just to spectate.

Side note (unrelated), the radium fuel filter is recently installed has been killer. Threw in some Redline fuel system cleaner while I was at it cause why not (impulse buy while I was at the parts store haha)

Oh you should most DEFINITELY go to a Test and Tune night & enter the car. Just pull up, don't red light, and go on the last yellow, ROFL
It's just alot of fun and you are only really racing yourself (unless you got some side hustle shit goin on 🤔😎).
I made the final round when I was only 17 and too dumb to step on the brake at the end. I "broke out" of my category, running a 12.82 but I dialed in at 12.90 in my 1973 V8 Vega. I took second, dam i was kicking ass too.
Pops ✌️

Me too. And I managed to keep both of my stock beast mode OEM fans. ;)

Scariest thing for me is just breaking something 🤣 I dont think I've even gotten 500 miles on the build yet and still just running a subtle 10psi. Want to crank it to 15psi at some point

It would be an experience you wouldn't forget. Its usually $20-30 for the car and driver to enter. Shakedown run 1st, to get the hang of things then start trying to improve. Just personal fun unless you have buddies that go with you with their cars. ;)
Crank to "15" is funny. Idt I've ever ran just 15lbs of boost but I'm old and dumb. :idontknow:

well i seem to have broken it temporarily :p

I swapped oil pans recently to fix a turbo drain. Forgot to disconnect battery and arched out the alternator. Fixed the bad fuse there.

I have a deleted s90 throttle body, and I got tired of having to manually rev the car to warm it up on cold starts. So I tried to put an ISC back on there, after doing all the above. Car wont start and backfires and is apparently running super rich.
Even after putting it back how it was before -.-

Hoping I just caused a massive boost leak or something.

Inititially, the first ISC motor i put in was bad, unknowingly. And I swapped it out for a good one.

Let the hunt begin.....

If you are unhappy with the S90 can you plug n play a 1g TB back on? They are pretty reliable, especially after a thorough rebuild.
Just trying to make life easier for you.

Gosh, Id have to get a throttle body adapter I'd assume? It's a SMIM that's designed for the s90.

I haven't been unhappy with it, mine never leaked or anything. I do have 4-5 stock 1g throttle bodies if needed.
It's a chinese/ebay SMIM though, eventually I want to upgrade to magnus/jmf etc. But the car worked before and I was trying to get all the little details finished and muffed something up apparently :p

I had 2 intercooler pipes off, I'm going to start with a boost leak test.

My wideband is reading 13-14:1 and the AFRatioEst is around 3-6 and the wbFactor 200-300%.

I saw your pic above and the 1g throttle body looks really good actually all polished up

My JMF intake will accept both. Yours may not.

Good to know! And I just realized that was another members red car up there :p

Eventually like I said, I want to upgrade that. That sold me on the JMF. I have their battery kit and coil pack bracket.

TBH I haven't even tried to hook up a stock TB.

For now, no more throwing extra variables at the equation. It's got to be something simple and dumb

Drove it to get groceries, and two things have happened as a result.

1) I ripped it from 1st at a stop sign, and I thought the clutch was slipping, so I goosed it again in first...and the car promptly went sideways on me. It was just ripping through all four wheels. ROFL I forgot sometimes that this car makes really decent power and especially makes a fat amount of torque too.

But, most importantly:

2) My 6 year old daughter has started not wanting to ride in the Edge, she instead wants to take "daddy's racecar". Which is kind of awesome, not gonna lie. So we went and got a couple weeks worth of groceries in my grocery getter.

Fun stuff. That's what I did in/to the DSM today.

Long since past time to install a wideband...

...then, noticing my gasket was "over", I installed one of these

Also started putting together pieces to upgrade my fuel setup a little bit. A couple months ago I noticed my fuel pressure was 50 psi at idle. I installed a new in-line gauge and it stayed the same. Swapped out to a spare fuel rail, known to maintain 37 psi with wally 255, but still it sat at 50 psi. I even swapped the rail-return line hose, and blew the line all the way to the tank (not clogged). So I made a bracket, bought some parts, and now just need time to put them in

I just ordered what is hopefully my last order ever from Amayama, 467 items. It was the first order from them in over two years, and this one HURT. New Evo 123 parts seem to get discontinued every week and the price on the big ticket items seems to go up 10% or more annually, so might as well get the rest of it while it's still around.

Missouri where?

Beautiful engine Bay well done like you I want to keep my A/C and P/W that non negotiable
Thank you! It’s getting there. I used to have a 1g without a/c and p/s, and i never wanted to drive the car. Doing it right this time around.

I need those soooo bad. I should treat myself but this busted truck window and needing a new TV have my fixed budget tied up.
Good for you Vic!!! I ❤️
