Nice looking hood WES. I cant come up with the balls to purchase a vented hood due to the term "ricer" But yours isnt bad looking compared to those CF hoods out here.

If I couldn't put the money to better use elsewhere, I would have bought a vented CF hood a long time ago. I don't understand how people think it's "rice", most vented CF hoods for DSM's mimic the stock Evo vent! And no DSM owner would call a stock Evo rice, yet a DSM with a Vader hood is somehow comparable to a Civic with a body kit? :banghead:

I love this hobby, but it's easy to see why some of the best and brightest ghosted this community long ago.

What do you guys think of DG konis with spring rate of 650 front 350 rear

Dd and track monster
My DG Koni/Hypercoil setup I got has 700/350 spring rates. I actually get them today in the mail so I can't tell you how I like them yet but, from my research, a 650/350 is a pretty good setup. Those spring rates seem stiff but on a properly setup suspension like the DG coilovers it "shouldn't" make you piss blood after a 15 minute drive.

I'll let you know for sure though here in the next few weeks. LOL

Got mine a few days ago. 750/350 spring rate. Probably sit in the box for a little bit though.

Agreed, when you get a carbon fiber hood for the weight loss and hood cents, it isn't (or shouldn't be) considered ricer.

Its got fuel for sure my fuel pressure gauge says i have fuel.Spark i have not tested. But i did clean the contacts to ground the coil pack to the firewall,i cleaned that up the other day.

I think anything at this point is better than my eibach pros on blown kyb agx.. I do daily drive the car but it will be converted to a track only, didn't wanna have to buy springs twice.

On a separate note, what do you all think about me goin wingless? First time i took off the wing, need to find rubber plugs to keep rain out, don't wanna weld them shit incase i wanna put it back on. anyone know where to get those??

Have made a valve spring compressor and removed all valves. None are bent ( :D ), even though timing belt did slip (and put her out of service about a year ago). Onto port/polish now. Maybe grind the valves also.

For sure. I just don't get people sometimes. :idontknow:

Well, it may have fuel pressure, but the real question is whether or not the injectors are firing.

Today, I removed a good amount of the rear interior. Went for a ride around the block and I can definitely tell a difference!

Well went o put an evo x fuel pump in my talon, and well the hard line on the top broke. i need help i do not know what to do!

Tore into my car the past couple days. Got the FMIC out as long as the piping and shame on previous owner had a huge dent in the top of the intercooler. Got the radiator out, turbo, exhaust manifLOLd, full exhaust off the underside of the car. Gonna take the intake manifold injectors all that cluster there off today. Found a bunch of CV boots busted so gonna need to replace those. Is it more common for those to go out faster on a lowered car? ( I believe its lowered like 1.5"-2") They are probably the factory ones anyways. Still have a lot of work to do left to get the head off and check the valves and get a new timing belt done.

Is that what happens to your timing belt when you don't properly install the oil pan bolts?

Other pics are of previous owner screw ups, injector seals are done, found an extra o-ring in the fuel rail I needed a spare I guess LOL, dent on my FMIC, and a pic of my progress on my tear down and yes that's a lamp for my shop light.

Took off the hood..........

Yes I know LOL. I was looking at It last night and wondered why I haven't yet? It's all good though it's not ready to get pulled yet, still waiting on some tools in the mail.

What I did today: got the hood off LOL, and got my intake manifold off as well.

You should start a thread in the newbie forum for this question. But to answer your question no, a 1g awd transmission will not work on a 2g fwd car.

willelvs- Wow those are some dry o-rings! Are you just removing the head, or pulling the whole block? When pulling the head I usually prefer to keep the manifolds on so you have something to grab onto. Or if your lazy like me, just lift it off with a cherry picker. LOL

@WES- I'm gonna pull the whole thing. Probably just rebuild it with parts that I want, I would like to get it to 400whp eventually. And my 2nd gear synchro is shot so I need to get a new tranny. Didn't really think about having something to grab on to but I think I can manage with out. Yea previous owner just has me doing this :banghead: all day LOL. I have a couple of connectors I don't know where they go they were just disconnected but I guess they don't matter car drove great when I first got it. It's an adventure but I'm loving every minute of it. I figure after seeing how not well taken care of this one is and I've fallen in love with it I can't just run it into the ground anymore so I'm gonna be replacing a lot of parts on it and get it back to awesome. :hellyeah:

Removed rear spoiler, tried tofill the holes with "right stuff" removed and plugged rear wiper and antenna, all in total there about 35-40 lbs lost
Also wet sanded 2000 grit on where the wing was, finished with 3000 grit wet and ten 3m rubbing conpound and then 3m scratch remover. Not too shabby, ahe still needs a bath
