Ha I did my VIS cf hood today too.. Man drilling holes in a cf hood is nerve racking as a mofo:pray:
You guys think drilling holes in a hood is nerve racking, try doing four holes in a CF hatch to mount a spoiler. Measure twice, drill once.... Always better than measuring once and drilling twice.

Lets see those pictures of the hood pins.

Don't mind me while I shamelessly post my new pins..

What did I do today? Played in the rain and got a ticket for "noise pollution," I guess my BOV echoes. Id say It was a good morning.

Finished up the engine bay, fired it, now working on tune to get it to idol.

I did too much on it today..... Reworke holset oil drain, welded dump tube, welded o2 housing, welded vband to down pipe. Reclocked turbo, changed oil, shaved fan blades to clear compressor cover. Ground down welds on dump tube and polished

did some head work and cleaning. getting it prepped for when I get all the new goodies in. cleaned up my exhaust mani and pulled off my horribly small t25. thatll go on the shelf, not for reuse.

Changed oil, replaced front driver side caliper.. fired it up for the first time this year.

Got to get myself an upper rad hose that will clear where the BOV is, or fab up some new intercooler pipes. That Piston Ring hose sweat coolant the entire winter, and is total sh*t now.

Adjusted my clutch. Had put in a new pressure plate on Saturday and it needed some adjusting. Much more enjoyable of a drive now. :)

Finally brought my turd out into the light!

Think this is the first shot I've taken with the engine bay fully assembled.. got busy in there.

All that's left is sorting out a suspected clutch issue, finishing the cam/spring/dampener install and getting the tune in on the dyno.

Plan is to keep power real low while sorting everything out and starting to lean on it when I take it to GLD for testing if there is time before the Half-Mile Shootout

=============================================================

On a semi-related note:

The wheels on the car currently are 16x8 / 4.5" Backspace with 225/50/16 RS3s.

As a result it looks retarded, complete monster truck stance. So those who have experience, please chime in on my plan for a setup the next time around....

Street - A 15x8 or 15x7 wheel with the widest tire (min. 225mm) that will work on all 4 corners with a stock style suspension, while clearing the 2G GSX front brakes and not poking a good 25mm out from the body work. :coy:

If this is not possible, I'd appreciate an alternate with a wheel no bigger than 16"

Strip -

Back wheels are going to be 15x4 1.75" BS with one of the following tire sizes:
26x4.5x15
27x4.5x15

Is 27" OD too tall?

Front wheels should be somewhere in the range of a 15x8 - 15x10 and ideally the widest 26" diameter slick that can be fit. But the offset to clear the brakes and the tire width to clear the perch are what elude me at the moment.

I've been scouring the forum now for a few days and it seems that every time I hit on a combination there's always one detail missing.

I don't know chris, I kinda like the looks of it. Gives it that tough mean 'this ain't a ####y chick car' look

Thanks! The poke is more pronounced in person though, and the mask is a bit ugly.. but thats more of a functional bit than anything else so it gets a pass LOL

Hoping I can get the clutch situation dealt with and get some low-boost results!
