How about the sizes and fitments I just mentioned..

This is where I get my tires from all the time. Cheap prices, good information and cheap Shipping costs. Yes the RS2-s in a 225 will fit a 7"-8.5" wheel. Check out the link there is some good info there about the tires. :thumb:

They also make that tire in a 215, that will fit a 7-8" Wheel.

I just put toyo proxy 4s on my car, 235/45/17

17x8 38mm offset on eiback sportline springs, pretty low...

the back fender required some rolling, but not much, just the lip inside, easily done with the baseball bat method.. the back is fine now, however the front is rubbing very slightly on the control arm under braking and turning, more on the driver side, which sits slightly lower than the passenger side.. I really did think I would be doing any control arm rubbing with 38 offset.. I think it's just because it's too low.. I'll be getting some coilovers to correct that.. I think I must have gotten some springs on the low spring rate side of things.. cause it's really slammed.. too much so.

Hey guys.. thinking about getting 17X7.55 rims with 225/45R-17 Falken Azenis RT-615 tires. Does this sound look like it would fit on the car ok? When I get coil overs I don't plan on going more than an inch lower..

The tire will fit on that rim width but whats the offset of these rims? One other thing what are you looking for in these tires & are you fwd or awd? If your fwd & looking for best straight line traction, these won't be the best choice as they have a rather stiff sidewall. If your looking for a great auto x tires, these would be a great choice.

Dunlop Sport Maxx have worked great for me...

Pirelli P7000 were good too...

I had some Maxxxis some time ago, can't remember the name... but I won't try Maxxxis ever again, I had so many problems with those tires... I got tired and I threw them away to get the Pireli's...

Thanks for the link!:thumb: I've been looking for another place that carries the Hankook K106's to replace the set that I've got on right now. At $81 ea. that beats what I had originally paid for them a few years ago I believe.

I recommend the K106's, but I've only ever used them in a normal street application (and the majority of that time they were on my 95 GS).

I would stay away from the Kumho 711's - they have discontinued them so some places may be trying to dump them - and that's exactly what they should do - they are junk.

This may sound crazy but I had some Sumitomo's on my 95 tsi back 3 or 4 years ago and now i have them on my 98 gsx. they were cheap from tire rack and i have to say that they are pretty decent tires - for daily driver.

Have a buddy that races Miata's in SCCA spec class and they HAVE to run toyo proxes RA1 and they just don't seem to last

I'm glad somebody else feels this way about the Kumho 711's. I remember when I bought my wheels, the package price included the Hankook K106's or the Kumho 711's. After doing a bit of research I vowed to stay away from the 711's for as long as I live. For a time, I had disowned Kumho all toghether but I've heard great things about the MX's and SPT's.

I haven't owned other Kumho tires but I can say the MX's are an excellent tire. Now that I've given them abit of time to break in, I have no problem going WOT in 2nd with zero wheel spin running 20 psi on my FP3052 turbo. My old set of Z rated tires would break all the time in second running my evoIII at 18 psi & they had about 40-50% tread left when I switched.

I'm pretty sure I'm going with what I mentioned above. Does it sound like it will fit in the car fine with no rubbing?? I also plan to lower in the near future, but no more than an inch..

I owned the Kumho 711's for a summer if that. P215/45/17 they gripped really well for me but they didnt last for crap. Then again I did get them for like $50 a piece. Right now I have the Continental ExtremeContacts. I love them, even have them on my fiancee's 17's and 18's. Grip really well and they have held up to some extensive negative camber. They are priced at about $88 for P215-45-17. Hope I could help. Andrew

I think I found a tire to buy.. these were recommended to me by my tuner over the falkens because they supposedly perform just as well and they last longer and cost less... I'm looking at Sumitomo HTR Z II tires. Anyone ever use these??

BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW2 all the way! I've had them for about a year now and they've been excellent tires. Good traction rain or shine. They're very sticky for a street tire, yet they still have decent wear characteristics. I've even autocrossed with them once or twice... while they're no Hoosiers, they can still hold there own around a cone course.

It looks like your fwd from your gallery & if so that isn't a tire I would personally go with. Like I said above they have a very stiff sidewall, so their great for autox but if your looking for straight line traction (which most fwder's are), then you should look at something else.

A friend of mine has used them... they were pretty excelent tires, but after a year, from one moment to another... both of the front tires got boobs (u know what I mean?)....

So he replaced both of them with Dunlop's... but he still have the Sumimoto's in the rear wheels...

G-Force KD if you are not going to be driving in the rain alot. I love these tires, yes they are pricey. But the grip is awesome. They suck in rain but are managable if you get stuck in a storm.

Just ordered my wheels with the sumitumo's..

BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW2 all the way. i have had them on two seperate occasions. the very best for a non-millionare dsm tuner, hands down.

I have the Sumitomo HTR +. And like I said in my earlier post, I really like them. I think they discontinued them tho.

Check tire rack. That's were I got them and they were pretty cheap. Good around driver.

I drive in the winter in Iowa. And I got this car from my dad who lived in Denver at the time. Not a ton of snow there (it's a myth), at least it doen't hang around like here in Des Moines.

And I agree with the other guys about the Kumho MXs. I think these replaced the Ecsta line - spelling sucks.

I wound up going with 17x7 MOTEGI RACING DV5 rims and 225/45ZR-17 Sumitomo HTR Z II tires. So far looks good.. soon I'm gonna heat them up a little and try launching with them.

I have dunlop fm 901 225/45/ZR These tires are not what i expected of them. So far my expected from them. They seem to grip very well and the wet traction is ok but not the best i have had. Unless its raining really hard then they grip just fine, but if its just misting then not so much.
