2g Wheels and Tires Size Questions [merged] fit fitment

I am trying to see if I can fit 215/60/16 snow tires on a stock suspension 2G (I am looking to use stock wheels).

Why would I go with such large tires? Last year, I also got an amazing deal on some 215/65/15 tires and used them on my Galant. I absolutely loved the extra tall tires in the snow! Not only does this make the car 1" higher (giving me more ground clearance), but taller tires "roll over" the deep snow better than shorter tires! And this year, I can an even better deal on 215/60/16 tires, but I am not sure if they would fit on a 2G.

Based on how well 215/65/15 fit on my Galant, I wouldn't mind taking a chance on 215/60/16 in a 1G, but haven't experienced large tire fitment on a 2G .

I keep seeing this guy around town with a 2G gst with 10.5 inch wide wheels! His car is lowered and it looks like his fenders are rolled. I haven't sen what size his tires are but I can't imagine what size his tires are or what the offset of his wheels is. I have a 2G Talon that is sitting on 17X8 superleggeras with 235/45/17s and i have very little room between the rear spindles and the inside of the rear tire. I don't know what offset my wheels are. How is he able to put 10.5 inch wide rims without fender flares etc? His car looks mean as all hell sitting on that wide of a swath of rubber

We have a 95 Eagle Talon TSI AWD, stock tire size is 215/55/16, I want to go a little wider without going taller. Will 245/50/16's fit on stock rims?They are almost the same height, but about an inch wider. Otherwise 235/50/16's are same height and 1/2 inch wider, but the 245 are priced much better

i have a full set of motegi wheels with brand new rear tires and 3/4 new tires on front... these wheels were originally white and were painted black by the person who owned them before me, they were on the car when i got it. they are 17x7 front and 18x8 rear then have a nice lip and the bolt pattern is 5x114

well.. the purpose for having a wider tire in the back is for more grip obviously ... and the front wheels are more narrow for better turn in response..


but to the OP ... that mostly applys to FR cars.. not FF cars.. so that rear rims are just wider and heavier but you're not getting the benefits .... unless you went 18x8 front and 17x7 rear ..

but that would look wierd...

i have a set of 18" black wheels. they are multi 5 lug therefore they will fit cars with lug patterns 5x100, 5x114.3, or 5x4 1/2
they came off of a wrx. 2 tires are in good condition, one has a little life left and 1 is shot. all are eagle f1's. If i recieve my asking price i will throw in a set of tuner lug nuts which are needed to use these wheels.

texted this guy today the size is 5x114.3 18x7.5 and 45 offset, these work?

im new too ive had my fair share of people and there sly remarks but i just overlook them. the wheels look really good but i i put some on my old civic that were just too wide and i raises a thought of getting 10 flats bc the sides will rub the inner walls and cause a flat sucks if your gonna use them just be carefull...

alright i have the stock 17" rims and i need new tires for them. but i dont want a huge gap when the start to bald. (i have 215 50 17 and they are starting to go bald and there is a huge gap) should i get a differant tire than the 215 50 17?

+35/+38 are your ideal offsets. I wouldn't put anything to wide on there, you can't really afford more loss of power to rotational mass.

Ok cool thanks. I was looking at the +25 offset you think that would work. I like the look of +25 offset compared to the +38.

The +25 only come in 18" by 9.5 will I rub a lot if the tire is 9.5? And I'm gonna be dropping the car close to 2" soon. All input is greatly appreciated.
