I would love my car to sit like that. Try and find the specs on the spacers if you can.
The rims im getting only come in 15x8 or 15x10 and thats too big. So I could do a 15x8 with a P235/60R15 = 26 X 9.50R15. Would that fit a 15x8 rim?

Hey guys, quick question. I have done some research and have not found any difinitive answers. I recently picked up some sport max 009 rims. These wheels are 18x7.5 with an offset of 40. These wheels will be going on a 1992 Talon TSi AWD. My plans will be to lower it about 1inch to about 1.5 inch, so not too low. I plan on have a slight negative camber to help with autox. Anyways, this car will be used for mostly autocross and some drag occasionally. I have been told a 235/45 tire would be good. I was wondering if I should go with a wider tire like a 245 or 255. Also how much difference would it make if the tire was a 40 profile instead of 45. What tire size do you guys recomend.

What does the number after the profile mean, like 40z. what does the z represent.

240 seems like a good range being AWD, you don't have to go crazy wide.
Shorter sidewalls will look better on 18"s dropped, 45 would probably look nice. I think stock is 50 or 55.

225 40 r 18 for example means the tire is 225 mm wide, has an aspect ratio (that is, the height divided by the width) of 40% z rated is anything over 186mph

T - Up to 118mph Z – (See Below)

I wouldn't go larger than 235 on a 7.5 inch wheel if you're looking to auto-x, my $.02. Also, it goes tire width (235) height as a percentage of width (40), so the tire is 40% of 235mm high, I believe the z is speed rating.

I think the rim is 17x7 it has 225 40's now, there "Fast" rims but not sure on offset? Not worried bout fenders ..think I'm ok there it's the curved arm behind tire, that gives me concern.. but I guess if I have to I can go with spacer's.. I bought them because good deal / top of line Hydro Edge Micilens wish they were 45's anyone in Ontario has some 225 -45's or 235 40's they'd like to trade I'd give 3 for 2.......

K well thanks I just dont want to pay to put em on then find out after I need spacers.. If I need em I'd like to get them 1st that's all...: or maybe I'll just re sell em and get 45's decisions-decisions

I always go on tirerack and configure things there when it comes to trying to fit tires/wheels on cars. It isn't the best way I'm sure, but it helps me get to the answers I'm seeking regarding these issues.

Lol yep thats what on front.. they were deal too the 55's will deffinatly fill the back if they fit ....

Stock at moment but it goes in for coil overs and struts next week.. the more I look at it I really don't think the 55's are gonna work .. at least not without spacers.

You'll have plenty of room, you should be able to drop it 2-3" without worry. My 235/45r17x8s would require a little rolling of the fenders to go farther than a 1.5" drop
