Well we have a few EVOIII 16g that are at or over 400whp.

These 3 cars are running on E85 and are way maxed out.

This is our Auto car that runs 10.6@125mph. The dip is me holding 1/2 throttle till 4500rpm so the car does no down shift. This is Stock 6Bolt Bottom End.

Here is the GVR4 on straight pump gas. This is the highest EVOIII 16g on pump gas I have ever seen.

The Red is after I spent more time with the tune.

Also after now playing the the EVOIII I feel they are real close to the same power capable as the EVO VIII turbo. I have 6 EVO turbos in the 400-500whp range.

well when i was working at intercrew we were getting these from blox. they are 80 bucks with the stack and filter. it looks huge but it fits fine in the stock location, the filter is 6in to fit over the stack and breaths really well.

10.6@125 for the Auto
125 mph for Zach with a bog. Broke an Axle on the next pass So no good ET yet.
12.0 @117 mph out of the GVR4 Vid of the VR4. I feel the VR4 should be around 119mph on the right pass.

YouTube - Galant VR4 goes 12.0 at 117

Man I love our 16g's Just dont hold the boost. Everyone seems to have the same issue. 30+psi spike and 22psi at top. Only reason Im upgrading other than it only flows 40lb/min max.

Got mine to flow 44 lb/min. I think there's a 45-46 lb/min left in it with the bigass cams.

I'm curious about velocity stacks, I'll be moving to SD soon so I can finally run something like that but I would also like to put my filter in the smic area, are these just pipe in the middle that can be fabricated to my needs and then just the ends are important or is there more to it than that?

I could also just hang a filter right off the turbo but I don't think I really have enough room and I think my AITs would be disgusting.

I am still trying to figure out some of your guys little tricks. The most we have got out of my buddies 18g on a full weight 2g (3300lbs) was 11.9 at 116mph. I am trying to figure out how to make it go 120+ but we are running out of ideas. Velocity stack, cooler intake air, zero boost leaks, maybe a better intercooler (ets street core), and an external dump are the only things that I can think of that would really help. I keep praying that something is just going to click and the car will just take off :)

The best trick you could do at the level you're at now is to put that car on jenny craig.

Jenny Craig is for girl's cars, He'll lose more weight with Nutri-System for Men.
But on a serious note, that would be great if you could get the car down to 3,000lbs

it went 116 on 110 and then went 116 on the first pass with e85. The diet is not something that is going to happen. The parts that he is willing to lose the weight on are expensive (light weight driveshaft, light wheels, brake kit, etc.). A/c, cruise, and every other factory feature are far too nice to get rid of. We are going to install an FP manifold and degree the cams after I take some back pressure readings with the 2g manifold. I am hoping that we pick up some power with the fp manifold.

the reducer on my intake is for the 3052 that i am using now, its still the same intake i used with my
18g. i was able to go 120mph in the 1/4 in a 3300lbs galant and trap 95mph in the 1/8th, you can get moving with these little guys if done right.

Here's the log. It was on pump gas/xylene/octane booster. Somewhere around 28 psi dropping to 22 psi or so. Note that this is 2nd gear, which typically shows a lower h.p./torque curve than 3rd or 4th gear. Most guys reading high on their mafs are running a tiny little intake adapter that blocks off the side honeycombs, or they are running a GM maf. I'm running the huge K&N FIPK with a stock untouched 2g maf, no idea about the calibration though.

Your IAT is 36*F. You can't do that at the dyno or at the track unless it's open in the winter :). Log it at 80* ambient. I've seen 2.5-3 lb/min difference in winter vs. the summer. My intake is routed to the sidemount location.

Glenn, 400+ WHP on an Evo III 16G would be no problem with the right mods. There is a guy in NE that is making around 415 FWD HP on an Evo 16G powered DSM. He had it dynoed at Sublime Speed. I have worked on his car a few times and his mods are,

Eagle Rods
FFWD Butchered Crank
Wiseco 9.0 Pistons
Cometic head gasket
272 DKS cams
1mm over sized valves
AEM EMS
Custom Tubular Exhaust Manifold
Stock Intake Manifold
E-85, two 255 Walbro's

Thats a good log, lots of boost, good timing and no knock. Looks like dsmlink estimates about 20 more hp than my car and thats in second gear. Thats moving for a 16g. Some good airflow.
