I must be doing something wrong.
I set the TPS to .63v, and the engine stalls immediately at idle, only runs if I give it gas.
Do u have the idle air controller still installed?
Does it stay running after warm?

I blocked off the FIAV, but do have the IAC still installed and plugged in.
It dies at idle, regardless if its cold or warm.

To get the TPS to .63v it's basically as far up as it can go.
But using ecmlink, it shows the throttle position at 0, and when gas is pushed it increases immediately. Seems fine to me.

But yes, regardless if the engine is warm or cold, if i don't give it gas at idle - it stalls.
It turns over, runs for a couple seconds, and when it tries to fall down to idle that's when it always stalls.

Right. U try adjusting the throttle plate screw first to get it to idle? Then adjusting the throttle postion sensor at the .63? Mabe try it that way? What's ur speed density table points at idle on link? They set high enough? U post a log yet of u trying to start it?

I haven’t posted a log yet.
I’ll get the info and a log and will reply. Thanks!!

Have you adjusted your BISS screw?
I actually just replaced it for a new one with a new seal because I installed a used 1G throttle body with the BISS that came with it.
Replaced it with a new one to be on the safe side.
I think it’s basically all the way down or half a turn before. And that’s after adjustments.

Back it out to let more air in. Generally, they are 2-3 turns from bottomed out.

It'll be a good start. You can't fix it or adjust much if it doesn't run on it's own.
It runs. It just doesn't idle :)
But i see what you mean. Im afraid im missing something that will make me slap myself in the forehead once its found. I just don't know what yet.
I'll try adjusting the BISS more tomorrow.

This often happens if the throttle plate would completely shut the air when you off the throttle. The throttle plate must be slightly open to let some air pass through into the engine when the throttle position gets 0%. You should check it first before messing with the BISS or tuning. Try to push open the throttle plate a little bit by adjusting screw and see if it would make the stall issue better.

I see what you mean. And this issue starting sort of aligns to when i switched to a 1g TB from a S90.
Do you by chance have any links which explains how to properly adjust the throttle plate? Or do you mean by the bracket for the throttle cable?
Is there a feeler size i should use? Or just go by ear/feel?

edit:
I missed the Adjusting Screw part, sorry.
I'll need to find its location on the 1G TB.

Loosen the lock nut and try to screw in the IPS a little bit if you have a 1g throttle body. And then if it would start idling without stalling, then probably you would need to adjust the throttle body properly.
What I meant is like the pics below. The 1st pic, the plate is completely closed, you don't see the flash light around the edge of throttle plate. The 2nd is in the position supposed to be, you see the flash light around the edge of throttle plate.

OK awesome!
I am pretty sure mine is completely closed, which is most likely my issue. Will test tomorrow.

Completely off topic from current events.
But does relate to the hybrid project.

Just wondering if there is any market for 4g64 engine parts?
I have a pile of perfectly fine 4g64 parts that im not sure what to do with.

Finally got a chance to mess with the throttle body adjustments along with the TPS. And Idle seems good.
Now its all about the fuel trim tuning with speed density.

Was wondering if anyone had a base map that they can share with me?
Just so i have something i can work off of. :)

I think ecmlink offers a base map on their website, I've read that before in discussion.

I got one I can save/upload when I get home in 13+ hours.

But it’s gonna probably need more than a little adjusting because you’re a 2.4.

I have a cool friend who is a professional pilot. He has been helping me with the tuning.
This stuff is way over my head. And i am an IT professional.
So far he did help me get the idle good. And he asked me to ask here for some base maps. Thanks for sending me one @CrackedDSM! It is very much appreciated.
