Well mine is no where near complete. I have big "3" done lacking H.O. Alternator and deep cycle battery. Haven't decided if I want to build my box in the trunk or back seat... but here are pics of what I have.

Wires are better hidden now and once I decide where I want my box and amp rack and start build or have it done I will post more pics. This setup is a freaking beast and I dumb beasting on this system.

slightly excessive i would say when you can't even see out the back window...

Im sure its decently loud, but that amp wont put out even half of that 4000 watts, and the subs are in a sealed box in the middle of the car. A pair of 12s in a correctly built and placed box could easily be just as loud.

I agree with this 100% although I'm sure it is still ridiculously loud. I've had experience with Lanzar amps before and they weren't the best, but I've heard two of those exact subs in a few different cars, underpowered, and it was still overkill. I do agree though, that for Kicker subs, it makes much more sense to go with a smaller set up in an adequate vented box. Kickers are made to be loud, not sound good so I wouldn't even bother with a sealed enclosure.

I have one similar to rubberburners. Its actually installed now and covered in suede to match. The only pics I have is the in process pics at work. Oh well here they are.

Its a sealed box for 2 10's and made so I can have some trunk and still get to my spare tire.

HHM upload keeps failing. I'll try later.

I forgot about this.

This is what Im working on. (Not a photo, I know it sucks :tease:) Im only doing one 10" sub, because Im more of a metal guy and prefer more bass drum than the low and loud hip hoppity bass. Ive already got all this stuff, and the wiring is there but I have a feeling this is going to be a nightmare trying to flush mount everything and make it fit nice with my limited wood working skills. Wonder how much itd cost to just pay some shop to do it for me

EDIT: Crap, my drawing didnt come up...

Trying it again...

I just have 2 10" kicker comps, decent little system for a small truck. they are the old comps though

*Edit: I had to get rid of the little tens for 2 12" brand new comps and a 1000w crunch amp. sealed box, puttin out like less than 150w rms

My build on pause b/c of lack of $50 to finish it off... (engine mods ara so much more fun for now. I also have no back seat passengers because they hate sitting back there so no poke holes in my sub :thumb:

I really want to try a reverse mount line 99gst-racer, could really free up trunk space. I literally have about half of my trunk space. I dont use a rear view mirror. It wont stay glued on. When it was on, I had a decent view. I could see the corners (no real blind spot) and I could see most cars directly behind me the sub only blocks 4 inches above the rear seat from the RMirror perspective.

Alpine type x sub 1kw rms, 3kw peak
MRD-M1005 amp 1kw rms @ 2 ohms

Note: its def pipehead theft proof \m/

Well I have had my subs for a while now. I love how it looks. I have a Thunder MTX box, 2 JL Audio W3V3 12 inch, 2 Stinger caps, and a Kenwood Excelon "Gouriki" Amp.

My first '99 GSX circa 2002 - Look at that ballin' DVD player. Ah how times have changed...except my taste in cars, subwoofers and 2G enclosure design =)

Got 2 12' kickers 250rms a piece. Custom box pointing at the back of the back seat. 760 pioneer amp (shitty) pioneer head unit. It makes my eyes hurt it can pound so hard. Kicker or JL all the way.

I thought that was a VHS player at first glance! LOL

I still love those old school Rockford cheater amps. Rockford doesn't make them like that anymore. I still have two that I can't bring myself to get rid of.

Tom, I love the look of that box you have there. Very clean! I wish I had the patience to set my self up with something that nice looking for a simply single 10" with 2 amps (sub and a 4 channel)

I'm finally working on the GSX again and may try something nicer than the single small box I have in there. Do you perhaps have you plans/draw-up from this one?

Yeah I had a RF 800a2 and wished I'd ever sold it. So let me know if you decide you only need to keep one:thumb:

I used cardboard to make a template for the front and back so it fit with minimal gaps. Then after I cut the MDF I had to bevel the back side until it fit snug. The bad about this design is its just barely over 1 cubic foot per speaker so it has to be a sealed box and use speakers made for such a small space. I used rockford R1 10's. They are made for 1 cubic foot and a sealed enclosure. They rock pretty good but your not gonna win a sound competition with them. The mirror shakes though.

im not looking for competition subs, just add a little bass to finish off my system. i like your idea but im thinking i might face the sub towards the trunk, but i love the box idea, that's definitely going to be my next project.

did you use a shallow sub? like the ones meant to go under the back seats of trucks and whatnot.

I like this one too, but I'm biased on positioning it there. I like having the sound but not loosing the space in the back. Looks great :D

^^^ Nice install. Very clean.

Back in the day, I ran a re-wound from Alterstart out of Texas. Now I run a Powermaster Saturn 130mm alternator. They were/are both arund 140 amps give or take.

Here is a pic of my set-up before i got rid of it. I got lots of compliments on it, but i got tired of the bass after a while. I traded the sub and box for a new vis oem CF hood ( I kept the amp).

I have a layout I made from fiber glass that shaped to the bottom of the back, it was for an 18" but it blew :( once I get a new one I think I'm going to a setup like this.
