They sit under this trunk lid I made... I didn't have the stock one my car came with so I made one.

Thats some slick ideas everyone. The best one ive seen is a guy from down by dayton ohio when i went to a cruise in at Killkare dragway. He has a setup where the box would tilt up out of the hatch with an electric motor. The kids dad was an engineer it was pretty BA. Im trying to decide on what i wanna do. Unfortunately I had to get rid of my 2 type Rs I had for money :-( not sure what setup i wanna go with in the talon if anything at all. Any ideas from anyone?

Not sure if your question was meant for trolling but anyway.. It's a preference thing because if I had a turbo model I would still get a nice sound system. I just don't think 19 year old stock speakers sound that great, that's all.

Sealed box, 10" Audiobahn sub, Rockford 5-channel amp. And I still had use of the other 2/3 of the hatch space. I've since retired this set-up, but I rocked it for years.

Painted the Rockford amp to match the car eh?.....you ricer.....

I agree on that one for sure they don't sound good. I was just seeing if anyone has any any really good luck with any certain brand in the DSMs. Ive used everything from alpine alphasonik memphis power acoustik visonik JL and alot of others. Ive just never really set one up in a dsm. Generally because i went for all performance my GST didn't even have the radio in it

I am running Blaupunkt separates (5 1/4) up front in my 92. They sound real nice. I never have an issue hearing clear music or the phone calls through the Pioneer BlueTooth deck.

Yup, painted it R87 red and clearcoated it. I did it for points back when I used to show the car at Hot Import Nights in Chicago back in the day. Hey, it looked good though.

I still have that amp, but it's been blasted and acid dipped to a silver cast finish now.

These sub set ups are pretty legit, I will have to see about getting mine on here. Does anyone know if you can fit 18's in the back?

Anyone have pictures of a setup where you can still fit golf clubs in the back. If I remember correctly (haven't driven my dsm in a few years) you have to fold down the seats and put them in the long way.

My idea would be trying to mold a custom one in the back corner behind one of the shock towers, where they have that little storage space.

I used to put my bag in the back seat... They just barely fit... I even had my 40" TV in the back standing up, sitting on the driveshaft well when I moved to my new place

In my opinion the cleanest setup is Rubberburners last one. i like the fact that there's still some trunk space and the decklid to top it off. Great job! Can we get some measurements?

I have one similar to rubberburners. Its actually installed now and covered in suede to match. The only pics I have is the in process pics at work. Oh well here they are.

Its a sealed box for 2 10's and made so I can have some trunk and still get to my spare tire.

Well mine is no where near complete. I have big "3" done lacking H.O. Alternator and deep cycle battery. Haven't decided if I want to build my box in the trunk or back seat... but here are pics of what I have.

How are people mounting things to the back of their rear seats? I tried drilling holes to mount my amp to the back of my seats and I just ended up with 4 broken drill bits and no holes.

ya i bet that hits hard i have 1 alpine 12" type x ( RMS Power Handling: 1000 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 3000 Watts) and 1 alpine MRX-M100(Per channel into 2 Ohms: 1000W x 1 (@14.4V Ƈ% THD+N, 20Hz - 200Hz)) and a kenwood KDC-BT948HD head unit, and this rattles my car so bad. i don't think i would want even one more type x in my car, let alone what you have but hey to each his own. ill get a few pics up tomorrow for u guys its nothing special just hits so hard.here are a few pics of my last system that got jacked if you want that was 3 jl 12" and a maaudio 1200 watt at 2 ohm rack mount amp, a rockford 2 channel 450 watt amp for my 6x9 speakers and my pioneer head unit all was taken.

Im sure its decently loud, but that amp wont put out even half of that 4000 watts, and the subs are in a sealed box in the middle of the car. A pair of 12s in a correctly built and placed box could easily be just as loud.
