Seriously nice build man! I must ask being in High School currently, HOW DID YOU AFFORD THIS BUILD? I mean I know it isn't like you bought everything at once but still. Also kudos on your mechanical skills at this age. I'm still teaching myself basic crap. And congratulations on the cleanest DSM interior ever, even though it's an automatic)=

Thanks for the nice words!

I saved up 6500 while working at a high class restaurant. Get a buss job at a nice restaurant, work your ass off everyday, and you will be making 400 a week. Keep in mind this car was on jacks for over a year so no insurance or gas money was being spent.

Also, I really dont have that much high price items, just keep it all clean!

Well thank you for the advice. I definitely could use another job, I spent all my mine fixing other cars before I got my DSM. Anyway keep up the good work on the build! I hope to see even more progress :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:

looking awesome! good work. what did you have to do to make the evo 9 wheel work?

Okay well, I'm home on spring break and busting out shit that needs to be done.

So far I've got my oem infinity sound system working, along with the amp, sounds awesome. I havent heard these speakers in years haha.

Next thing I did was strip all the paint off the old Brembos.

I only masked off the back and painted the front. I did a decent job but the letters are a little weird but no one will notice besides me.

The next thing I did was try to find a fender roller. I finally got a hold of someone who said his cousin had one he would rent for $50 so I called him up. By the time I got the roller, which was brand new used once, I had two buddies asking me to rent it.

So I asked the guy if he would just sell me the whole roller and fender finisher for $165 and he took it. So I have a fender roller now!

Now I started on the Brembo install. I grinded the hubs/ tapped the ear, and had the caliper bolted up, but am now wishing I clocked them up.... So I might have to switch them around......

Tomorrow Im going to finish up the brakes and start on fuel pump rewire and evo 8 pump install.

Mad props to the build thus far man! I wish i could roll in this back in highschool! Cant wait to see how far this goes!

Car is looking great! loving those brembos.

Quick question, and it might be a silly one. What kind of rotors did you buy? GSX ones or are they Evo 8 Rotors?

Whered you get the replacment gsx decals?

Also are we on for Earville? And I want my fenders rolled too.

Can't wait to see this car is person:hellyeah:

How did you end up rolling the rear fenders with the upper control arm in the way?

They werent in the way! Roller fit fine in there.

Haha well Im into college now but yeah, I might be one of the few at my highschool who thought this car was cool believe it or not.

Evo 8 rotors, they are a lot bigger.

Bought the decals from JNZ, they had three, I bought two. And what is Earville? Haha

Well I finally got the brakes and shit done so decided to do my fuel pump rewire and fix up some wiring in the back of the car.

I dont think I have ever shown my wiring set up before but here it is.

I have a 4 gauge cable from battery to a 150 amp circuit breaker, then to a distribution block in the glove box. I then have an 8 gauge cable from battery to the 30 amp fuse for fuel pump. I tied everything into the factory witing harness and brackets.

Here you can see the relay and ground cable from the fuel pump.

And here is my new clearance in the back from rolling the fenders. A before and after, no height change, all fender work.

Okay well a lot has happened this weekend.

I have always tried finding a 5 speed swap that worked out for me and I finally found one. A guy about an hour away put up a 95 gsx with a blown motor up for 1k. I was going to go for it. Luckily someone offered to come pick up my auto trans and t-case for 700 on saturday so I was golden.

I picked the 5 speed donor up and got it back at about 9 pm Friday night and got started pulling my trans because the guy was picking it up at 5 the following day.

I literally had that trans out of there within 3 hours, a new record I think for awd auto trans LOL.

I then pulled the engine/trans from the donor.

So on saturday I pulled the pedals from both cars, the front axles, shifter cables, auto shifter and 5 speed shifters, and TCU from my car.

Now that all the hard stuff was all done I looked to the donor car for shit to sell and make some money off it. It had an eprom in it that I quickly sold, and it has a mint turboback Megan Racing exhaust that will be sold next week, then the shell and wheels are getting scrapped after I pull the rear diff.

come roll my fenders...looking good man,,hoping to makenit out and see your car and bs..earlville dragstrip in may..hopefully.

so you have a car that needs a heart and trans,pm me well talk.

Yeah Earlville sounds tight. And no, I dont have a car that needs a heart and trans. The 2ga I got is going to the scrapyard LOL.

Very nice build! where did you get the factory GSX decals?

Not to be a dick but did you even read the beginning of that post? LOL

All you have to do is remove the evo hub, and weld on a hub from a 1g dsm, pretty straight forward.

Heres a write-up if you are interested!

My package from Jnz came!

Have my two gsx decals, my mitsubishi decal, lsd decal, fuel pump rewire, and this little hood prop clip.
