I think so yeah. My buds hatchback GT is 3200 w/driver, which is 200 lbs heavier than a notch, then subtract the weight of a cast iron v8, 50 lbs cause hes a bigger dude, I could do chromolly cage instead of mild steel, manual windows instead of power, ect. and hell yeah Ill do a build thread on it, have to part the supra out to fund it tho. Its got a lot of good stuff on it, and since theyve got 100 miles on it all I can just clean it up and sell it as new. Ill do the part out thread soon if youre wanting anything
Yeah but my buddies mild steel roll caged, full interior, 91 5.0 weighs less than my 1G. Somethin wrong with that I say... If I did a 4g63 in a foxbody notchback I wouldnt be surprised if it weighed around 2700 with driver, thats some serious potential! Plus Id keep the 1G for looks cause yeah Ive never been crazy about them either
Ha well awesome man thanks appreciate it! Im rather disappointed with all the "dinosaur" type tuning you have to do on the 7m... its only a few years older than a dsm but so far behind it seems.... no datalogging, not much piggybacking, just stand alone if you wanna get serious... ECMlink really spoils me haha
You said you know someone whos done a 4g63 swap into a mk2... can I get more info on that? Is there a thread for it? I also have a dsm and a celica supra (good combo huh?) its got a 7mgte swap, and Im really getting tired of the 7m BS so exploring my options
His was a 93 i think, no maybe a bit newer. It was fwd, but the engine was nice and healthy.Had some alright power for an n/a fwd, with almost no mods.Definatly more power than my girls 99 avenger v6.So the celica and supra chassis are the same, minues the engine and being fwd?
Nope, not fully answers my question. My buddy had a celica for the longest time, he wanted to turbo it, then 3s swap it, then 3s awd swap it.Timing chain snapped, he sold it for 500$.I should have bought it.
It has nice mustang paint on it, but the front and rear bumpers were junk. The cf hood needed reconditioning, but thats nto a big deal.Tein suspension. It was a nice car, motor and trans had like 20k miles, clutch was brand new,ps pump was brand new.Had a catless straight pipe with no muffler, it was loud, but you could cruise at 25mph in town in 5th gear.
