Hey Andrew!

The build is looking great so far. I really like how the head liner and the seats came out! Keep up the great work. The trunk also came out very well. I like you goals for the build, however the only thing I would change is keeping it a 2.0. Here are some pics of the car when I had it, I am posting them up to keep you motivated and setting your expectations high, good luck! Let me know if you need anything

hey Brad thanks for posting those pics! i was trying to find all of these pics but i lost them. you really knew how to build DSM man. +1

LOL did you see how dirty the shell was when i took the carpet out?? LOL all nice and clean now. glad you like the path im walking with the eclipse; im taking my time with it and since its winter i haven't been able to touch it much.

I decided to switch from a 2.0 to a 2.3l cause of the shop PTUNING down the street from me. the owner has a white 95 gsx with a 2.3l in it. since im one of the only guys who has a DSM around his shop (mostly evo's, sti's and turbo S2k) he let me ride in it. The 2.3 with at gt35r surprised the crap out me!! and i was sold.

plus iv already done a built 2.0 it was a lot of fun but time to be different :p

if you have any opinions on the build man lmk!! ok

You're one lucky man. I know Brad personally and he was meticulous with that car! It was absolutely perfect. I'm glad it seems like he sold it to someone that will do it right. Good luck with it Andrew.

ya i really lucked out finding brad, and his gsx, its in good hands don't worry!!

thanks for the kind words

Drew

Brad is an intelligent cat and a stand up guy. Good luck with your build. Hurt his baby and he knows where you live. ;)

trying to dig my car out of 3' feet of snow :notgood:
im ready for spring to be here..

here is my attempt to clean my oem seats.. the seat on the left is the one that has been detailed, the one on the right is next on the chopping block..:thumb:

Looks great man. I like how the visors came out. I forgot to ask, what cream did he use to stretch out the leather? I think I'd be willing to use that. Also, where did you get the goo-gone stuff? Is that whats it's called? That's yet another tool I'd want to try in the future.

Thanks!

Ill get pics, and names for you tonight. Jjrock

ok here is the stuff i use JJrock

-the left bottle is spray "goof off" it makes quick work of the sound dead material, and any other residues

-the middle bottle is "goo gone" i use this on my seat and plastic pieces of the car, plus it has a orange smell to it :thumb:

-the last is "Meguiars Plastic X" it gives all the plastic a nice smooth feel and helps hide scratches in the plastic

as for the stuff i used to clean my seats with, i cant get a hold of my uncle right now but when i do i post the name up kk..

update*

hey guys so i started spring break this weekend and thought it would be a great chance to move my car to its new home. :) "grandma's garage" LOL don't
judge me :D

all i got to say is having a garage is amazing i can get so much done, with out tracking in dirt and water.

what i got done vvvvv

1.gutted trunk
2.finished cleaning metal interior up front
3.installed carpet, and door runners
4. found some rust in the spare tire well, and start prep work to fix it

pics :thumb:

on the last pic, can anyone tell me what this tube does that's running through a hole to the underside of my bumper???

That's probably the drain tube from the hole that's on the edge of the hatch. There's one on each side of the hatch. The sunroof actually also has 4 of these drains. One on each corner of the sunroof.

How's the fitment on that carpet? eBay right? How much? Is it molded exactly like oem?

that's right it is the sunroof drains i forgot, i removed the two hatch drains cause im going to fill in the holes.. and i'll try not to drive it in the rain.

actually that is the OEM carpet, just sprayed black so it fits like it was meant to be there LOL :)

Wow definitely going in depth with this thing. I didnt know you were gonna take it completely apart...

ya the plans are as follows

1. respray engine bay silver "not filling in bolt holes"
2.eliminate abs system
3.spray subframe black/install solid aluminum bushings
4.have steering rack rebuilt " just case its out and its 13 years old LOL
5. have suspension pieces powder coated "gunmetal"
6. megan coilovers

oh and i broke the heads off of all three bolts on the subframe engine mount :^)

anyone want to buy my suspension setup??? LOL

Pic update*

hey guys had sat of today so i thought i would try and get as much done on my engine bay as possible..

as of now the engine bay is sanded, cleaned, and sprayed with primer :)

next on the list is to spray the engine bay. I think i am going to do 2 stages of paint, and 1 stage of clear.

on another note carquest rebuilds power steering racks if anyone is interested in that info.

prices are 307.91 for a rebuild, with a discount of 170.00 for a core exchange..

ya man when its all done come on down and check it out!

haha simple is not the way this build has been going, but "less is more" is the big theme for this build. :)

well my project is on hold right now, my work season just started last weekend and my dads company is completely booked out.. ill be working every weekend for the next 2 months so i probably wont make any progress on the car..

i do promise tho that the next time i do make a post it will be a good one with tons of pics... fresh paint and a lot of shiny goodies's :)

alright well quick update on the build LOL i cant stay away..

got a good deal on some sparco torino seats from this guy in lynchburg VA

Any word on that cream you used on the leather seats? I could really use some

he sent me this link of the products he used on my seats...

Product Review: Leatherique Leather System - Autopia.org

has before and after pics of the leather.

the products above are for heavy duty cleaning only!and it is not meant to me used everyday.

for everyday treatment this is what he recommends...
-Zaino Z9 Leather Cleaner and the Z10 Leather In A Bottle

hope that helped
