At first my response to this final post is BOOOOOOOOO.... BUT! in saying that i can see where you are coming from. Building a car in 60 days from a mis-match of old and new is quite draining when its all said and done. I mean in two months you put a car together on a budget and it accomplished what you wanted it too. There was a good chance it wouldn't make it to Norwalk and you blew those doubts out of the water. I agree with you regarding the street car. Although a full out race car is great. There is something to be said about a street car making 500+ hp and having full interior and can be driven to work in some type of comfort. Once im done enjoying it as a street best it will be come a race car. That and when I can afford a second toy from the street.

So... enjoy your break just don't stay away for to long. There a ton of great deals out there. Just need to look.

Also... Can you post more pics of the hood. And how you cut the vent in the rear of the hump? please

Draining is the main word. It was just a lot to do and then The ShootOut came and went. Like a great drug, then it was gone. haha.

I very much appreciate words of wisdom. I've been getting a lot of support lately and it feels good.

If you want more information on my custom hood, check out my Instagram (@aa_wolo). I did a step by step breakdown on how I cut the vents and what not. If you have more questions, just PM me bud.

Saddens me to see her go, however the buyer is a good friend of mine and his house is literally 30 seconds down the road from mine. Also, 5 minutes down the road from you Aaron. I sense a Wendy the third in the future... Feel free to stop by anytime we can polish some of that goodie you just spent all weekend making :sneaky:

I'm very glad Darrin is as excited as he is about it. Will be nice to see the car finished properly and i'm very willing to lend a hand and help him build it.

It'll be a year before that stuff is ready. haha

Done again? Just park the damn thing and give it some time.

Never said I was done!! Just taking a break. Been in DSMs for 10 years, that's something you don't just give up. I had a great run these last few years as well.

Ill be back. Just want to relax and catch my breath.

Iv always wanted to do one.

If I had to pick another project to do. That involved a 4g63 motor. It would be the following.
-AWD spyder conversion with Talon front end.
-Rx7 or S2000 with 4g63 motor swap RWD
-Or find a RHD actual EVO 3-5 and have fun with one of them.

UPDATE: 10/10/2016

I have been slowly purging myself of all the DSM parts I know I wont need. Its been an interesting process and after cleaning out boxes and boxes of parts, its crazy to see what one can accumulate over a decade of this sport.

I had been searching for another car, just keeping my eyes open, but that has stopped and I will be taking a serious break. My father was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, and the outlook is not good.

Been a long time since I’ve updated my beloved build thread.

March starts the 7th month since my father’s diagnosis. I wish I could say things are going well, but they aren’t. We’ll know more tomorrow as I’ll be traveling to Buffalo for his 3rd consult. Cancer sucks.

In the meantime I’ve been thinking about another car. Need to bring some positivity back into the mix and my passion for fast/fun cars is still alive and well. I won’t be jumping into anything ASAP, but I’d like to have something fun to drive within the next few months. We’ll see what happens.

If you read this, hit some boost for me on your next drive!

UPDATE: 11/28/2017

Well, its been a long time! i went through the last 10 pages of my build, enjoyed the memories.

Nothing new on the car front, still taking a break and keeping my eye out. There is a gentlemen about 3 minutes away from me with a 1995 GST Automatic. He needs it out of his driveway. I may make him an offer. IDK, might be worth a couple hundred bucks to fix up.

My father is in a stable cancer condition. Its been almost 16 months since his diagnosis. He's definitely not the same, but at least he's still around. Unfortunately, my wife's father was diagnosed Stage 4 Pancreatic as well...6 months ago...f**king insane. Hes in worse shape than my father. 2017 has been a shitty year, 2018 probably wont get any better.

I hope the DSM family is doing well!

UPDATE: 1/24/2018

Happy new year everyone!

Sad to report that on December 15th, my wife's father lost his battle with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer (S4PC). We put him on hospice for his last week and got to spend as much time with him as possible. He's pain free and in a better place now. My father is still within the "stable" growth parameters with his S4PC, so we are hoping he has another 6-12 months with us.

CARS! No I haven't bought one yet. Just been to busy. Going to continue to keep my eye out for something though. I was traveling for work and saw a very nice 2GB Talon in Nashville which got the blood flowing and the ideas kicking!

UPDATE: 7/27/2018

Hello family! Quick update here. Life is good at the moment. Wife's accepted a great new job as an NP, i'm killing it at work and we are trying to start a family. My father is still "stable" with his S4PC, but every month seems to be a little worse, which is to be expected.

However, I bought something. But its not what you guys are thinking. Something came across the table, that I couldn't pass up and it checks all my boxes.
- Reliable (simple and easy to maintain/mod)
- Fun to drive ( a true sports coupe)
- a new to me drivetrain (RWD)

2007 Nissan 350z - 6spd with low miles and bone stock. Should make a GREAT weekend racer and nice weather cruiser. Honestly, it feels REALLY good to be behind the wheel of another sports car again.

This time around, its going to be a slow build process, and one that has a lot less hassle and downtime. RWD will also be a fun new adventure.

Ohh sh**! I found Wolo!

I was never lost bro!!!

congrats on the new ride. The 350z make for some fun autox cars as well. Parts are easy to come by as well.
I was looking at the Nismo 350s for a while. Still do from time to time.

Agreed. Should be a lot of fun and these cars are very reliable. Id love a Nismo 350z, but they are rare and $$$.

Yea hard to find a clean Nismo for a fair price that doesn't have a ton of miles or has been beat to hell. I have a soft spot for those HR motors, I used to own a 08 G37s while in college. I loved that car, It was great and it didn't give me any issues up to 80k miles. Just replaced tires, brakes and a battery. I was going to do a single turbo kit to it since I had just paid it off. But got rear ended one night sitting on the street and totaled out. I was bummed. been looking for IPL or Nismo one for a fair price ever since just haven't pulled the trigger.

But yea man they are fun cheap rwd cars for sure. :)
