I was with the green crx and white integra by you guys. Sorry about the DQ ... car was running good huh? First pass off the trailer it went 8.7* LOL Car looks even better in person.

They need to do something about parking. It got ridiculous just trying to get back to the trailer to work on the cars before rounds.

Thanks for coming down to Baytown :thumb:

Loved everyones reactions on the second video. Congrats on the achievement

I wish the video was a touch longer cause they went NUTS! The loudest scream you hear is Darrens dad all the way down on the starting line! ROFL

:D Nice job! I knew that you weren't far away from the elusive 8 second run. She's a beast for sure and I love watching it run!:hellyeah: Nice work and good luck in the future.:thumb: :applause:

Darren and the crew, minus myself, are in Shreveport LA right now at this weekends IFO event. If he sends me any updates I will be sure to let you all know! 1st round of qualifying should be right about now...

Nothing much to report, had an injector fail on #2 that ended the weekend short. We had 8 old style Bosch 1600's in the car and they are proving to not be up to the task more and more so we are exploring all of the newer stuff thats out right now. Been looking at FIC 2200's, Morans, Billet atomizers, and some of the new Bosch and Siemens Deka off the shelf offerings. Part of it will be finding what will work well with methanol and E-85 since we run both. We know the Morans will but they are also one of the highest in price. Its up to Darren in the end and right now he is getting tired of chasing issues. Hell, arent we all.....

Edit: We still have our methanol motor we could run but that will not go in the car till ALL the issues are sorted out.

Jeff dont you run an AEM? Do you use a Crank Trigger wheel? If not have you seen any issues with timing "floating"?

Gio, did he do 8 of the 235# or 4 235# and 4 275#? Thats what he told me he was doing yesterday.

Motor should be going back in the car this weekend, once we get the injectors from Moran we will be back up and running. We are coming out out methanol too... Ill see if I can get Darren to make a run at the record.

Ill see if I can get a log to post up, we have sent the EMS back to AEM and they said it all checked out fine. We also had the injectors flow tested and there was one that flows slightly more than the others and we always make sure to put that injector in the #1 runner. This cars fuel system is total overkill (10 1600's and the mechanical pump and NOW the proper regulator) and should have no issues with fuel supply.

The issues we are looking for with the AEM is that it doesnt hold timing. The logs will always show what the AEM thinks the timing is but it may actually be floating around.
We always set the timing with a timing light but never really have used the light to see if its holding where its supposed to when the RPMs are anywhere but idle. :ohdamn: Some say this is correctable with a CTS (read crank trigger sensor) that has more points to monitor timing than the factory cam angle sensor but we wont know till we get the motor back together to test that theory. If you dig deep enough you can find where people have had issues with this.

One thing i learned in training for being a haltech dealeristhat is you hook up hall effect sensors with the polarity reversed, they will retard timing with RPM,may wantto check intothat.. best way to tell is with a timing light.. leave your normal advance in place (don'tlock the timing to set it like normal) then set your timing light tothe average advance at idle.. start watching it and have some one slowly rev the car..if it retards instead of advancing swap the polarity on the AEM'swires to the crank anglevsensor

Glad you are still shooting ideas at us for those issues Glenn :thumb: We will give this a try (if Darren hasnt already)

Darren worked all weekend in the shop and got the motor put in and running. He's breaking it in right now with 100 octane while waiting on his injectors from Moran.

I do run AEM and I run the 24 tooth trigger disc in the cam sensor. Timing seems to be pretty solid in my car. What I found on E is when using 8 injectors, sometime the driver box would fail intermittently killing one or 2 cylinders, This is why I went back to gas and some custom FIC injectors Jens made for me. The other thing is the injector clips were always failing as well, cant say why.

We think we know what caused our issues after speaking with Moran. When we were running meth we did not flush it out of the system when we were done after a race/dyno and he said, even with his injectors, that the meth can buildup a "film" in the body of the injector and can cause them to stick totally at random. :ohdamn: How did you track your issues to the injector driver failure?

Ill have to look into those 24 tooth wheels for the CAS again. Its just that the CAS do not take into account for timing belt flex/stretch which Im sure is minimal, but with the level of these cars, I cant help but think it matters. :hmm:

Kiggly does have the timing stuff for the crank if your worried about the belt stretch stuff.
