Lol, I know I can be confusing sometimes haha, so much going on.. The GTK has been long gone, it was gone before the shell arrived. I'd definitely be worried with it on a stock block, that GTK puts out more than a 42r so it's safe to say it'd be a ticking time bomb if I ran any decent amount of boost.

I am sticking with the large framed extended tip B&Ws (originally a s472) but upping it to a better nitrous suited s475. The manifold work is on hold so I can either sit around and wait till late spring to get this car goin or I can get it going now with the boat loads of parts I have and have some fun with it while getting use to shifting the auto. My built motor is still chilling sitting on stands, makes me sad but I rather put everything in together and be done. This way with me using the spare motor I can be less paranoid of everything and just go balls out.

Here's my motor setup:

Modified Ross pistons/Groden Rods
Buschur lightned and knife edge crank
Head by Speed Injected 1mm over ported and sleeved.
Ferrea SS valves
Crower Springs
Both O-ringed
MLS gasket
L19 studs
Magnus RACE intake manifold
Greddy Kevlar T-Belt
AEM adj. cam gears
1600cc FIC injectors
75mm Wilson TB
Buschur COP
NOS PRO Fogger kit
AEM EMS
BW 75mm S400sx Turbo
FP 3x Cams (Still need to sell these for some BC/ Kelford 280s)
Moroso olipan
Kiggly girdle

So all that is still there. I just want to run this HX35 since my cousin put his HX build on hold to get a house and I have nothin better to do than play around with crap I have laying around.

Here's some videos of the Night rider lights, I always got a kick out of them:

After checking up on all the other cool builds, this car is definitely the next big thing to hit the scene. I hope to see you at the track, its been a while but I remember your 10s runs just last year so its deserving. Keep up the good work. See if you can catch the Red Rocket, that car is amazing as well!

I havent been on the DSM boards in a while. Glad to see some pics of this car, brought back memories. Good luck with it.

Build looks awesome man!!! Threads like this keep me inspired to build a sick-nasty DSM. Pertaining to the auto drivetrain, what torque converter will you use?

Thanks for the kind words bro, it means a lot. I got high expectations for this one and I'm just taking it slow. It was crazy having a 10s street car, but trying to go 8s still seems so ridiculous. I'm moving at a snails pace due to other projects I have going but when I finally get the chance to devote all my time and energy to this thing, it'll be on the road in no time.

As far as the transmission goes it uses a custom converter made by ATP, the guys who built the transmission. Not sure on the exact specs of it however.

You have plenty of cool pics when you gonna change your avatar to YOU car man?

Technically that IS my car... LOL but I have been meaning to change it to a picture of the exterior of the car anyways.

 That looks like your boys engine bay you had pictures of on the site I won't even mention cause it's filled with clowns. The guy with dual 50mm bovs and what not

I am Erik's cousin, Bryan. We co-purchased that car as a project back in 04' I think. Then I got my Mirage and Erik went his own way on the project.

Oh ok, cool/ Yeah things went kind of south on the deal, but the guys over at ASAP helped out as much as they could, I guess ya live an learn, I would love for the things that were wronged to be righted, but that's for another day.

Thanks for the support however. If the car does what its suppose to I'd love to head over east for one of the bigger DSM events. Hell I have been asking around about having a West Coast version but don't know the likely hood of that..

Ok so even though everyone thinks I died and this build went to heaven, it is still very much alive. Parts are trickling in and I am getting the last main puzzle piece to finish the master piece, most recently being my fuel setup pieces such as my AEM nitrous ready rail and my a Bosch 044 for my dual Bosch setup. After that, the next thing on the list is some sort of engine management. DSMLink is so cheap now I might pick one up however knowing me I'll just wait till an AEM EMS becomes available.

Another new change is my cam choice. With my FP3xs currently up for sale I need to decide if a FP4r or possibly FP5r setup is suitable for my setup. A FP5r/FP11 *camzilla* setup isn't out of question but I have yet to hear back from anyone running that setup on the streetability of those cams. Again, if this car can't be driven from point A to point B and on the freeway, its useless. The manual bodied 3spd will be my main hurdle so I definitely don't want to compound it.

In the mean time I took the wire tuck to the next step. In most DSM tucks including my past tucks I have always kept the Engine Harness coming from the top passenger side of the engine bay. Even though I can hide it decently by running it under the brake line and down firewall, its not a true tuck. Its still there and in any car other than black it stands out so I figured a great way to relocate the harness so its hidden behind the engine and out of the way. I need to upload the pics off my phone to Picasa and I'll post them later tonight. I accidentally uploaded the wrong pics so I might as well post them anyways.

The Dizzum seems to pull more tail just sitting as a shell than all the ones running, I'd love to see how things change then hahaha J/K Had some fun a earlier in the month and took some pics with a "friend" and got some actual use out of my paper weight:

Check back tonight and if I'm not partyin' yet I'll get some of the tuck pictures up.

Lets have a recap so you can all remember what it looked like to start with:

YUCK! GTFO with that jungle vine of wires and clutter...

I took a quick 30 minute run through with a few hand tools utilizing a little experience to quickly clean up the mess that was laid before me:

Oh yeah, now we were getting somewhere...

But this was my Mona Lisa, I couldn't just stop with that, not on this (hopefully) end all project for me (yeah right..) So I took it to the next step:

Completely stripped it to the frame:

First line of duty, get rid of the 52 (yes I counted) holes in various sizes located in various locations in the engine bay:

Grind smooth-

If you end up using a crappy wire feed welder like I had to use because I ran out of gas for my TIG and I didn't have the right wire for my MIG then you'll need to use a good quality (and I stress good) metal glaze to help will in the imperfections and level out the fine scratches from grinding, the coat should be VERY thin and be sure to paint it so it doesn't rust. *Please don't be a hack and bondo in the holes.. That's not what that stuff is for.. :nono:*

In some of the pics you will notice I went the extra mile and removed the access "seam putty" to give the engine bay a glass smooth surface:

A complete pain in the a$$ to do on a black car at night time with only a spot light, but I got it done.

Not bad! I still need to finish the glazing, but that will come later when I am ready to fully paint the engine bay all at once:

Ok! SO. On with progress.

So as any of you who have attempted a wire tuck quickly realizes that no matter what you do, you can't seem to get rid of that big bulky wire loom in the corner under your wiper motor. I've thinned out the loom and retaped it and been able to make it rather "invisible" but I've had the fortune of owning mostly black DSMs. When I tried this on my white DSM, they still stuck out like a sore thumb. As nice as the engine bay looks with a fuse box relocation, weather its inside the car or relocated under your fender you still are left with this big nasty thing sitting there:

First things first, we gotta get to the back side of that pesky wire so we can pop that cap of and yank that harness out. To do that you gotta pull your dash which is rather easy and only consist of a few screws. If your car is like mine, you have already removed your HVAC system and once the dash is gone it a wide open field. Never mind all the black "spray". I accidentally threw a wrench into the car and it landed on a big containing a couple cans of spray paint which turned into a "paint bomb". A majority of the affected area will be covered by carpet regardless.

You can even see how the gunmetal chromoly cage is ran behind the dash bar:

Next up before we start yanking anything we need to find a location to re run the wires. My car is a manual swapped Auto so I'm not sure if the Autos have the same hole located behind the dash on the bottom center that the shifter linkages run. It is currently covered with a plate which is easily removed with the (2) 12mm bolts holding it on.

Inside, behind dash (note the stupid paint spray :banghead:)

Perfect! That will keep me from having to cut any more holes and at the same time offer a location that is not only easy to reroute all of my wiring to but will position my harness directly behind the motor and underneath the massive Magnus. With the way the pipes are ran, is reality you wont even be able to really see the harness from any angle. All wires will be ran underneath of course and only pop out to plug into its respective component.

Ok, now lets get started!

Now onto the relocation. This is a great method for those of you who are afraid to splice up the wiring harness. I have done it before and the weight savings never was worth the hassle but previously it was almost impossible to get the look I wanted without doing it, well guess what: NOT ANY MORE! :D

So lets locate that pesky eyesore.. Not hard to miss...

:(

Now we need to find the rest of the white retainer located in the upper passenger side against the firewall. (more abstract spray paint art)

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

To open it you will need a good source of light and a good eye, or you can do it the Tizzy method and hit it with a hammer.. (when all else fails) What ever you method get that thing out of there.

Next, reel it in. SLOWLY! Just like reeling in a big catch. Pull too fast you'll rip something and lose the prize, and if you don't finesse it just right it'll turn it into a "charlie foxtrot" for those of you who don't know what that is.. Google it LOL. Be sure to work on both ends of the harness. If it feels like it is resisting, don't keep pulling, move tot he engine bay and caress it from there, when you finally get it out (various methods, basically what ever works. Just know I already tried it and no matter how much trouble you are having I GUARANTEE you it'll all fit. Take the large relay apart from the plug if need be, everything else is just tedious. Prior to all of this I found it wise to pull all the screws holding the harness down inside the interior, this will give you the needed flex to move it around, when it is all said and done you will rile in victory:

Now the "hard" part... Not so much hard, but understand the new hole you will be passing it through is much smaller (and it should be... The other hole is massive, even if you hole cut your own make it as small as possible) My preferred method was to start with one end at a time, preferably the fuse box end of the harness, in effect making it one long harness (you can pull it through the other hole side by side its so big) This will test your skill and patience. I found pushing the plugs through first also helped.

More to come on the fuse box relocation later. But its almost 11:30 on 12/31 and its time to stop being antisocial. :rocks: Feel free to ask any questions or comments. Thanks for your time and support as always!

Here's to a great 2010! :thumb:

In Asia, its the year of the Tiger, I heard its the Year of the RAVEN over here. LOL Be safe everyone! Keep those motors reving and that boost growing higher. I'm on my Droid so I'll keep it short and sweet. CIAO!

Currently, neither site is better than the other as a complete package. Tuners offers a larger array of categories and in whole is a "larger" forum community however Talk is and or was home to the majority of the big wigs in our community. Hell, the guy you got your shell from, Casey, is from that site as is the life of that car from its first build, mishaps, etc to his final hurrah and part out he completed, hell there is even info on his new Evo he built (Even Jake still post up about his Evo build and track success). You can find the history of a lot of these major guys as they happened over there. A lot of the stuff here was simply duplicated or imported. Guys like Jake, Kiggly, etc, etc regularly updated their stuff. the ETS, JMF, and MAP guys are regulars and even have multiple builds of theirs and for their big customers, personal, and shop cars whether they are Evos, GVR4s or DSMs.

I actually started over here on this site and at that moment in time this site was rather dead. Shep, Jake, Kevin, Rip, Buschur, Taboo, Marcos, etc were all throwing up post, updates and builds over there, either personally or through shop guys. Only way this board got the updates is if a member from there posted it on here. Hell, even DSMSource/Trader was getting more love LOL. Presently the information load is a little more evenly spread between the 3 main forums being Talk, Link, and Tuners. At the end of the day however I find using all three boards gives you the best range of knowledge. This forum has a great archive of information, however as far as the movers and shakers go, I head over to the other forums to get the heads up from them, or latest vendor news/projects. They are all useful tools. I like them all and hate them all to some degree, all at the same time haha. Each board has its pros and cons as evident.

In the end we're all one big family haha, some from here on moms side, some from pops side over there on talk and the Link forums is like Uncle Jimbo, your crazy alcoholic favorite uncle.

And I'm sure he liked the post on the other board since due to their response I posted up some more eye candy of some other lovely ladies that took some shots with the cars. :sneaky::thumb:

I don't care if jesus posts updates on talk that site is ass and is run by but pirates.

Only place better than tuners may be NABR and for classifieds and tuning info the link forums.

I like this place, im not a member of any other forums just nabr, however i don't get over there much.

i spend all my free time working on my car! don't have enough time to browse lots of forums anyways.

nice work with the build, i did a tuck on my 1g last season and it was a ton of work, but if you remove all the old wires you dont need thoughout the whole car you save a bunch of weight!

Im thinking about building myself a milspec harness this season, however im not sure. my harness now is good shape, so if i don't get time im just going to run this harness again since wiring is always last thing I do!

Just read through all 5 pages... Wow! What a build. When do you expect to get it on the road/track?

Thanks for the props bro. I'm guessing sometime during the summer. In all reality I could put it on the road tomorrow with all the parts I have, but that is at the expense of my time to take stuff out as I upgrade it to the final part I need. At this point in time I'm in no hurry and rather just build it up the way I want it to begin with.

I got me a new condo so I'll be moving the car over there and hopefully be able to work on it a little more often. I am still however tempted to work the bugs out of the car utilizing a much smaller turbo setup and if that is the case I'd see the car being up and running as soon as late mid-late spring. Nothing is definite however so don't hold me to that.

I have been quietly piecing the last few important parts I need, I'm sure I could post up for every little thing I get, but I'm waiting for more meaningful and major/complete updates before I do so. I Traded my cam gears for one of my 044 pumps I needed and just finished a deal that will land me my second pump and my L19 head studs. This is crucial because now it means I can bolt the head up to the motor as well as install it, not only that but it allows me to fully complete my fuel system. Pretty much what I am saying is that they are the last few pieces I NEEDED (even though I could run the car how it is currently with the 044 being fed by my 255 and use my regular arps) and the car can be completely assembled and then driven. But again, that would be at the sacrifice of time and patience to tear the head apart to swap out the springs for behives and the fp3x cams for fp4rs. I'd almost rather wait, meaning the timing will only have to be set once, and the springs/cams are more easily swapped out side of the car.

I've also decided to not have my kiggly girdle installed. This will avoid some headache of having to modify my oil pan, and save money in the long run. Guys have been running singles without the kiggly brace, and many of the big dogs currently don't run it either so hopefully I'll be ok for a while. I figured the next time I am FORCED to open up the motor, I'll go ahead and add them in, other than that I'll be just fine. (Someone quote this as my "final last words" hahaha...)

I don't have the benefit of only having one project as many of these other guys do, my time/ money is being split between the Talon, my Truck, and my RX8. Hopefully this year I can focus more on the Talon as I promised myself last year after putting all the attention towards the 8.

Something tells me this will be a good year for DSMs! :rocks: :hellyeah:
