The RAVEN!: AWD/Auto/S400/Nitrous/Alum. rod/100% street car build *8/9s or bust!*

Nice build up but theres already 2 auto awd dsm's running 8's

AMS 1g AWD powered Mirage and C-Dub racing red 1g Talon

YouTube - C-Dub Talons- The Midwest's FASTEST street cars

The Mirage doesn't really count, but the other person I was referring to was C-D aka yellowrs. I remember he was running flat 9s and was right there at the 8 second mark. I figured he was gunna break it soon but either way it goes, comparing our builds I should have about 200+ more hp at my disposal. BUT he has that car DIALED IN. It is definitely a beast. (I still don't think he has that 8 second slip yet.. The fastest he has posted is still the 9 flat)

Much respect.

As I mentioned before, I wont mind going back and forth with the record until one of us runs away with it.

There are quite a few fast builds out there, but one thing you'll notice about mines is its about the most radical and outrageous as you can get. I'm hoping this big nitrous shot and this huge s400 on this manual body auto can help me squeak out some respectable, and more importantly, consistent times.. :rocks:

Badass Buildup:hellyeah:
That's a huge size difference between the intakes:D
What did you do with the water pump to run the hose/pipe like that?

That hard piping setup you saw went to my GTK 1000 setup:

Basically all the water in/outlets were modified to accept couplers by welding on a piece of beaded round.

how much you looking for on those DR's ??? :)

Dunno yet bro, with the rims. Maybe 1kish. Haven't priced em to know if that is too low or too high. But considering how much the tires are new and the rims are new, that's a really good price. They had less than 200 miles on them.

A little behind on my updates but so far the car has been washed and some parts sent into the machine shop. I still have some loose ends and some last minute parts to buy before I dive in head first....

Hell I still have a bunch of parts that still need to be shipped, so we'll see how thins shape up in the next couple weeks.

With no license plate and thus no tags I didn't want the car chillin' on the street so I called up some friends and we got it put on the trailer:

:) looks good bro.

im just thinking about new wheels. but for those rims and tires i would say not to sell them for less than $2500

those tires them selves are about 1k for all 4

and those rims new are about 3k new

Thanks for the heads up bro!

Actually quite a few people run them. I run one on my 2G and we also run one on our 4G63 dragster.

I know there are a couple running the Race, but I don't know about quite a few... ITs one of if not the most rare of the manifolds... Especially considering how big of a company Magnus is and how many run their regular unit. I know of some Honda guys rocking the mag too. But regardless of that I was just saying you don't see it often and my pictures as well as Eriks are the first time most people even know it exist.. LOL

How do you like yours? Any pics? I'm surprised it fits in a 2g..

I got my hands on a better camera (than my cell phone) and took some better picks of the car.

So what was the story about this car at the Shootout last year? Did the tranny fail or did the previous owner break something on launch?

Gorgeously crafted... I have seen plenty of cages on the boards and in person and few are built to this caliber. I'm fortunate by far. Much kudos to the RCB guys in S. Florida who fabricated this cage.

Racing seats/Harnesses:

Passenger side utilizes the same bucket profile ABS light weight seat (about the lightest seats you can buy) as the driver as well as an RCI 5 point racing harness. The difference is the Passenger seat is a hook lock/latch type and the Driver is a quick disconnect cam lock.

So what was the story about this car at the Shootout last year? Did the tranny fail or did the previous owner break something on launch?

Bad tune... When you run a 175 shot off the line and the tune isn't emaculate you are going to flood your engine hense stalling it. This is what happened to Erik. The car ran flawless during his street and dyno tuning but he failed to attempt to tune the launch controlls and thus wasn't aware he had a flooding issue before he made the trek all the way to the shoot out.

I'm not worried about that, Sean over at FFTec will be able to have this car running 8s and getting 30mpg. ITs just up to me and the guys at Robs Machining to get this motor built and everything tip top shape so we can be confident of pushing that much juice through this motor. Something that hasn't ever been done before.

A little info on the cage:

12 pt 1 3/4" TIG'd Chromoly Powdercoated black metalic. (Soon to be Goldmember Gold lulz) Driver side swing out w/ window net as well as over head chute latch and independently mounted/detachable Simpson parachute. Passenger side is form shaped to the door (not a simple straight bar).

Looking good man. I'm confused though you have like pictures of two different engines which one is the engine your actually gonna be running?

?

There's only 1 engine...

The aluminum rod one seen in the pics with the red vave cover. Only thing different is I'm not running the GTK1000 (42r range turbo) I'll be running the S400 (45/47r size/range turbo)

I'm off to work so I can't post now but when I get home I'll put up a few more pics of some of the stashed parts ready to go in.

Wow,very impressive thus far.Money is nice,so is having the knowledge to piece the righjt parts together.

Alright so he flooded the engine from too much nitrous, however did something break because of this that enabled him to no longer run. There doesnt seem like there was a nitrous backfire from the pictures of the intake manifold. I'm just trying to figure out why the car never made it down the track since there was a lot of hype and interest about the car.

A gt45/7r sized turbo on a auto should not need any spray to get into the 8's if tuned right. You can build boost off the line and keep it the whole way and the turbo flows plenty to reach your goal. The juice would just complicate things like with the previous owner.

For the most part people are not using spray all the way down the track, the auto guys are using somewhat small shots of nitrous to spool up the turbo to get the car to stall the converter properly.
