Still waiting on Moran to send the injectors, then we will hit the dyno and the track soon after that. Our local IFO event is coming up quickly so we are hoping we will be ready in time.

Injectors are in, car is going on the dyno in about an hour. Will post results as I get updates from Darren. Car has the stock converter in it for the dyno and is running on full methanol, hoping for some BIG numbers.

None yet, there was actually another car scheduled to go on the dyno before him so he was delayed a little bit. Should know something soon and I may try to head up there when I leave work.

Edit: At 35psi car made 690whp and pushed a head gasket. Might be able to have it o-ringed and race ready by the weekend. #### the Felpro gaskets and no o-rings BTW...

Was that the permatorque one? Assuming it is there a local here in MN that had 2 fail on him cause the lack of o-rings on the gaskets. I think hes going with a titan copper gasket now. Get her done, let her rip!

Awesome #s by the way

We tried the Titan, didnt like it :notgood: The power was down from what it has done before at the same boost but the run was ended at 8500 vs. the ~9700 we normally rev it to. Should make more, no problem...

I just had a permatorque mls push on me. Is that what you were using? Going back to a o ringed head with a oem composite or a cometic mls.

Yes it was the Permatorque POS, this is the 2nd time we have had issues with it as well. We are going back to Mitsu MLS with o-rings in the head.

The head repairs are already done and the o-ringing should be done today or tomorrow. Hoping the weather holds but it looks like rain for this sundays IFO. :banghead:

Yeah it sucks. Do you know what kind of protrusion you got te o ring setup to?

I'm pissed because it's not a cheap gasket and its a huge inconvenience.

Ill get with Darren and see if he knows how deep the machine shop sets them.

We actually spent quite some time on the phone with Kevin@Kelford Cams to get the best cams we could to help battle cyl pressure and we were just hoping they would be enough to not need o-rings... Needless to say, here we are LOL!

I swear by the copper gaskets, I wouldn't use anything else PERIOD, On a full meth motor and stock converter looking for the glory number you seem to be down quite a bit of power, I just broke in my new trans tonight, at 34ish psi and a 6500 stall converter, 0 nitrous and 9:1 gas motor I easily made well into the 700's with only 12* of timing, not trying to rub it in but I was far from being on kill with the tune. You guys really need to look into what killing your motors.

They didn't put a stock converter in for glory numbers. They put a stock converter in because they are using a 2wd dyno and when the high stall converter flashed it just go into wheel spin. I would leave comparing dyno numbers to supra owners there the only ones ### enough to give a shit about that.

Also i would say they are working on whats killing motors since they have been completely going thru the fuel system part by part. It not like there is a shit ton of people successfully running meth so theres obviously going to be a learning curve.

Didn't you swap a 5 speed into you're car for "glory" numbers last year?

Ok, now go back and pull a coil off one of your plugs 3/4 into the run and see what power it makes. :aha: Do I need to post the graph of us making "well into the 700's" with less boost on a lower grade fuel? If you would like to offer up some advice on why we may be killing motors (not that we want to hear it) that would be much more helpful than telling us we need to figure it out. Its pretty easy to see we are doing that also. Lets face it, any motor thats trying to make 200+ hp per cylinder is going to have issues here and there. Youre not going fast if youre not breaking stuff.

no not even close, I used a 5sp trans so I could know the exact amount of converter slip I was dealing with, and in that testing I stopped at 44 psi and 1029 whp, made 2 pulls at 55 psi and never said one word on how much power it made. Like I said My comment is directed at why it seems down on power for a combo that should be up from where it's at. It was directed to how much carnage they've been dealing prior to this last mishap. Dont jump in here and start gang banging the atttack when all I want to do is help. There's clearly some wrong with Darrens car, I have dealt with these exact issues finally narrowing it down to something unbelievably stupid.

Now why would I want to pull a coil off during a pull, that's ridiculous, If you need to post a graph please do so since your already on the offensive. and since your not wanting any ideas that may help the situation, no skin off my ass. enjoy.

Jesse I honestly dont belive this is fuel related, and like he said now not earlier so people would know, that a coil came off mid pull. There are a couple other things that come into play on the earlier torching of the heads, when I was dealing with this same problem and finally found it, I couldnt believe how much money in new parts I through at it when it wasnt even close to what was the issue, of course I realize all cars are gonna have different gremlins, but it's ironic that this same issue appears on numerous cars and after I do this one simple fix they have no issues now. He spoke his mind for Darren and said he wants to hear nothing from me to aid the situation so.

Then why would you just not offer the solution instead of tell them they need to figure out the problem in the first place? Then going on to compare what your car did on a clean dyno pull to there dyno pull where they pushed a hg halfway thru the pull.

You missread what I said... I was saying you could pull a coil off your car to simulate it losing a cyl like Darrens car did, we did not have any issues with that. Sorry if that missed you. Obviously you would never do this intentionally but your remarks about it being down on power are pointless when the car blows the head gasket on the run.

Edit: And for the record I asked you how you tacked down an issue you said you had with your injector drivers and you never answered me. If it was overlooked or ignored I do not care anymore as you are showing your true colors here and Im not sure Id honestly trust your answer anymore.

Oh boy well with all this said you guys have this whole thing under control, and for the record I would never mislead anyone no matter who it is on helping fix their car, EVER and to me comparing my clean power vs this bad pull, it was only saying it as a comparison for looking for a problem not as a attack which it seems to be the consensus, I'll step out of this now you guys all have a good day.
