More Random things we find, huh guys? I am really never surprised....or did you just lose one?
Don't let me hold you up with a reply, I know you T, it was that way when you took it apart.

Haha. Yeah it wasn’t there when I took it off. Didn’t even notice it until now. This is just hand tight LOL

Tham. The nut is not even in the position for the lock pin hole to properly secure it.

The washer will bring it out to the right place.

Yeah that’s what made me notice that’s it’s missing. The cotter pin was on when I removed it so it must not have been torqued. Lol

Funny I’m working in the same area. Installing both upper and lower arms including inner steering arms

:thumb: I just can’t believe someone can miss that huge washer. Think it’s the second largest washer behind the subframe washers.

I hope mopar still carries them. I hate paying for shipping on these small/inexpensive parts

I feel you bro. I was going to order the thermostat housing gasket but I can’t justify to pay $6 for the gasket and $16 for shipping.

I know man. It’s insane. I’d try an auto parts store for that gasket.

I couldn't find it on Rock Auto. Amayama has it for $3 ea. + $8 to ship from Japan. JNZ has them for 4.76, not sure on shipping. The bevel faces out, when you install it. The FSM has a little illustration of that. Sucks to wait for small parts when you're trying to complete a repair. Good luck.

Thanks mech! Yeah it does but not worries. Worst case it’ll be down for another few days. I’m going to check the local dodge dealership to see if it’s available. Seems like other models used that washer. If not I’ll just order from extreme and ask if they can just put a stamp on it LOL. Think I have a few bonus $ from them.

I can tell you that on the 2g at least the thermostat gasket is dealer only for some reason, if you buy the Failpro gasket set it comes with it, otherwise its not available by itself, maybe the 1g is a different story.

Yea, that’s why I wanted to order it, but the shipping cost is no bueno.

You can buy the washer from jnz or stm or as a nut kit. Its not a bad idea to refesh the nut and washer as they can wear and get worn but they work still as old ones none the less, i taken mine off many times and seem ok but next time i think i will refresh for the mind knowing its new

Thanks Bobby! I’m ok with using the old one since the cotter pin should hold it in place

See if your local parts store can get this Dorman #618-037, I think it is what you are missing.

Nice!! Thanks Marty! I’ll try my local Chrysler dealer. If not I’ll try the parts store

I had to search a bit and figure out what it might be called. The other option was to buy a cv shaft and then take it back without the washer or keep it as a spare. :)

Oh my Marty! Are we suggesting to the folks to commit fraud or a crime LOL

Why heavens no. I have bought many a part that, somehow, was missing one piece or another. Actually, at MY parts store, they would open up the shaft box, GIVE ME the washer, and send the shaft back.
I have a spare box of each shaft in my shop because they have a lifetime warranty. If one goes bad, I box it up and return it for a new one.
I do spend PLENTY though, and track my expenses thru my account every year Bobby.
With my small car lot of vehicles, I am in there once a week at least. :)
