1G Axle nut after install slightly seizes axle?

Just did a fresh front end bearing rebuild and as I torqued the axle nut to 167 lbs as I’ve been seeing online it doesn’t even let it spin within the other wheels. You spin other wheels but this will barely nudge. All others glide smoothly. I think it’s 144-180lbs. Would anyone recommend lowering it? Seals and all look good (front end)

No, there is something wrong. The way the front works is the axle when torqued down provides the correct preload to the bearings.

Gotcha.. yeah if I spin the other wheels it nudges the front right wheel but doesn’t spin it. I have a rubber inner seal installed but maybe not seated far enough? Seems maybe it’s the pressure between the axle and seal.. what would you recommend doing? Can I just say **** it and drive for a little at low speeds to burn off the rubber?

I would recommend pulling the axle out and checking that the bearing it installed correctly and seat the seal if you discover it's not seated. The hub should turn easily.

Did you reinstall the ABS ring?
