Resolved 1G Front axle nut washer?

Perhaps grab a wire brush and some elbow grease, too. A shiny new washer might look odd with the patina on your hub.

Yeah I know. I ordered new wheel bearings and seals for the front so it’ll be another week or so to get everything back together. Also had the rotors resurfaced.

I’ll get the rust off the hub before my buddy presses the bearings for me

I’m also in the midst of a similar overhaul. I’m doing halfshafts and control arms, too (and bearings and seals), and trying to make it all look decent before assembling. Actually sort of the fun part for me (other than flooring the right pedal). I’ll post some photos on my profile soon.

Didn't seem like it was mentioned, but you may consider venturing to your nearest pull-a-part. This is going to be the same washer used on a great number of Mitsubishi vehicles: Mirages, Lancers, Diamantes, Galants, Eclipses, 3000GTs, Expos, Monteros, etc.. Just another option.

Thanks Brian! I was able to order them from the dealer that’s a few miles from my house. 7.50 for both > going to salvage yard and it’s been raining for the past few days.

They’re still used in some jeeps. Think 2007 compass

Did they stock it Tony?
Woops, I see they had to order, well glad you could report that they are available and Brian telling us what other vehicles that may have them.
All good info, I have a Chrysler dealer in town and I went to school with the owner :thumb::thumb:

That's cool. He better hook it up LOL.

I wonder how these come up missing in the 1st place.....

Reusing the cotter pin?!!
I thought that washers like this end up in the "Wonder" box of parts left over when a project is finished. As in: I wonder where these parts were supposed to go? The previous owner of my vehicle must have had a decent sized "Wonder" box in his garage, since I keep finding nothing where there should be something, and have to procure and install it (the first part often at significant effort or expense). Most fasteners that I don't find (find missing? unfind?) turn out to have counterparts on the vehicle that have threads stripped or boogered in some way, which kind of explains why the other half is gone. Not like any of us wizards have never cross threaded a nut, but if we did, hopefully we'd fix it instead of just leaving things that way. One of the first new tools I purchased when I got my DSM was a set of metric thread chasing taps & dies.WTF

Yeah. Good quality tap and die set is a must for anyone working on cars in general.

I reuse cotter pins as long as they’re in decent shape. By shape I don’t mean they have to be straight LOL.
