ive searched and still no luck on anwsering my questions? are they worth buying how do they handle boost?? i am done with act so i am looking around for some thing. how do they drive?

you want the stage 4 with a spring disk, its 2300 and holds till red line, just remember to ask for the stage 3 sprung disk, Unsprung is not good for street use in traffic(sprung is bad enough).

yea i have a built talon on 25psi and just want to know if it is a good set up?

Why would you want a stage 4 unsprung 6-puck disk?

Little did I know at the time, but I was in for it when I bought my 6-puck ACT unsprung disk with a heavy duty pressure plate...horrible horrible memories...just horrid.

I've had an XTD stage 4 solid 6-puck in my car for probably a month or so now. I just did 15 passes down the 1/8 mile drag strip this last Saturday night. It never slipped or stunk. It grabs very good but does not chatter and is not hard to take off with, launching at the strip, or pulling out of a parking spot or the garage. I think it's an amazing clutch. I paid $187 for it, and my Fidanza 4.3 that broke within a couple thousand miles was about $355. I will never run a sprung disk again, they're junk because the springs (or what holds the springs) like to break, and they seem to cause chatter when upshifting and surging when driving slow.

I highly recommend the XTD Stage 4. I just ordered another one for the stock 2G I'm putting together to sell.

from my experience with unsprung clutches its a on/off type situation and its not recommended for daily use. IMO

The springs have nothing to do with that. If you want a broken clutch, get a sprung one; I've had it happen, so has my cousin with 90 less hp than me. I've also heard of it a quite a bit here on tuners.

I'm running a sprung 6 puck ebay clutch, cost me $191 shipped and has never slipped on me over the past 4000 miles.

I've read that it happens more often with sprung PUCK discs than sprung street discs. I'm wondering about this clutch now (just spent $290 on mine :banghead: )

How long do you expect this thing to hold up? I don't even know what the average aftermarket clutch life should be

My Talon has the same clutch as the OP. Other than the previous owner not adjusting it correctly, I have no complaints so far. I was quite skeptical since I knew it was an ebay clutch and had read NUMEROUS threads on other car sites saying how poor and fragile these clutches were, but this clutch supposedly has almost 5k, and I know they broke it in rough and slipped it a few times, and the thing still grabs pretty well.

My friend just put a stage 3 XTD in his 240 (hundred miles if that), and it's also good. I know 100 miles is nothing, but he also slips it, drifts it, and launches nice and hard on it and it's holding.

Also, what do you guys think about this...

XTD Clutch scam! - SupraMania

Um . . . OK.

To me, my XTD PP looked like the Fidanza one I had, and the clutch itself looked similar to the Fidanza too. Also the Fidanza 4.3 and Competition 1620 look identical to me in pictures. I think a lot of them are made by the same place and are just relabeled according to what name it's being sold under -- a lot of other parts work that way so why not clutches & PP's. Either that or they have suppliers for the parts (many using the same supplier) and each place just assembles them and calls them their own design.

I installed an XTD clutch (2300pp w/ 6puck sprung disc) and it has functioned flawlessly, even after 10k miles. However, I'm not running over 16lbs of boost...I was worried about chatter when I first bought it, but now I would use an un-sprung disc because there is only occasional chatter with my current one (not nearly enough to bother me).
