just got an xtd stage 4 clutch and i am pretty nervous in putting it in.. not sure what to expect.. people say its good but i saw the supra forum and its fake.. . stock PP with 6 puck. . i just got mine today and it looks like the stock with a 6 puck. . what do u guys think.. IS XTD Stage for just that?? a stock PP with a 6 puck??

yeah its my daily driver so far.. but it just has about 65 miles on it so far .. so i cant really say much until after the break in.. . doesnt feel that bad to sprung really. . just getting use too.. just think of it as a way of learning how to shift better. .

oh and if u have not used the clutch or dont no that much about it please dont vote . .

Ahh ok, I think I might pick one up then, considering they're half the price and I've only really heard good things about them

I was fine with the XTD 6 Puck Unsprung. I had never driven a car with a performance clutch that I knew of before. The XTD other than being a bit stiff and having NO play at all I.E. it was in or out. No easing it out to get going. It was fine for daily driving.

That being said this was on a 2.3L Stroked 1GA Talon AWD with a 16g, and full supporting mods. It wasn't the easiest car to drive period. But I managed it fine, and so did the previous owner. I didn't even realize it was unsprung until we pulled the engine out to rebuild it and drop it in his new FWD talon.

ive been using a stage 4, for a year now, got about 4000 miles on it now and its ok. some days i hate it and some days i love it. they do good on long trips too. but they can be hard on the drive train. i probly wouldnt put one i a stock car but moded yes

well for one i have broke my cv's and all my motor mounts, and im pritty sure my trany is going from that clutch.

yeah it shakes alot for me in 1st gear.. . sucks

and when i installed it i had to replace the master.. and the slave. . i also had to use the same rod that was on alre
ady.. think its extended not sure..

the tob does suck............... we know that............... use stock one that was ## problem

well so far so good.. have launched maybe once or twice. grabs good. but the 1st gear feels a little tough. but i like the way it grips. . but i cant really tell much of a diffferance from stock. since i haven't launched more. but will soon.. did u end up getting it

Havn't gotten a chance to get it in yet. Waiting for an OEM TOB, clutch fork and pivot ball. Hopefully will have some time next weekend to get it in. How long did it take you to get it in? When I did my spec clutch setup the motor was out also. Any tips you can give me?

u will most likely need to get an extended rod for the slave since it wont engage without one no matter if u try adjusting the clutch. so get that. oem bearing is the best so thats good. it shouldnt take that long make 2-3 hrs if u have help. if its just you be careful with the tranny its pretty heavy . make sure you take off all the mounts from the tranny. and make sure they are still good. also u should change your tranny oil as well. i got the cheapest just because it has a small leak. but feels so much better shifting. got Coastal Brand at Autozone. also when you take off the housing check the flywheel. if it looks warped wither buy a new aftermarket one or just take it to get resurfaced. Once u have it jacked up and you put everthing back turn on the car. and try it out. if you dont use the extender the clutch wont engage and u will have problems. you can buy one from ebay.. like $15 i think. when u order the clutch just call in so you can get it for $160. so u can save some money. Hmm, I don't like the idea of needing an extended slave rod. Do you know how much longer the extended slave rod is?

Huh I run a ACT 3200 Custom 4 Puck Unsprung " The biggest and heaviest made ACT Single Disk Unit" everyday and have no problems, I have a new SS Full Line, OEM Pivot Ball, TOB, Fork, Slave, and Master Cylinder and I have had no problems with engagement or disengagement.

Extended rods are mostly bandaids.

not sure how much longer but since you got a new clutch fork and pivot ball you might not need it.. i used the same one that were on since they seemed to be in good condition. i had replaced the master and slave and adjusted the clutch pedal as far as it could go. it would engage but not as smooth as with the extended rod. it is a band aid so to say but shouldnt cause any harm to the system . if any harm done . maybe to the slave .

I think I will try it without an extended slave rod. I don't want to band aid anything. I will get my flywheel stepped also, since I have new master and slave and getting new TOB, pivot ball and clutch fork I think all should be well. If not, I don't know if I want to throw anymore money on this trans.

im running the stage 4 with a fidanza AL flywheel..... at first when i did my rebuild on my engine( built bottom end , stage 3 head & 272's ) i re-used the stock clutch .....i couldent even hit boost without it slipping.....through this bad boy in there with an extended rod and im holding every bit of power all the way to redline...i love it,

I was told when i bought my car that a shop had put in an act 2600 for the previous owner, drove it for over a year with the pos noisy tob rattling around. i took off the tranny last weekend to replace the disc with a new act unit and discovered it was an xtd in the car!! LOL anyways it works fine and i would recommend it, just use the mitsu tob. and youll be fine. :rocks:
