I'm moving on from last year with a goal to hit the 11s, and I got that goal with a [email protected] on a stock block with a hx35 and a few other mods... So for this year I fully built the motor( every thing is in my profile) and had goal to get into the 10s for this year. So got the car tuned on 93 pump gas @ 30psi... and loaded up on the trailer, and headed to the track on May 20th... Show up at the track and was ready to let it rip!

Well first run was going to be a shake down pass, so I didn't get kicked off the track on my first pass... I don't have a roll cage. So my first pass I let off in the 1/8th and ran a [email protected] mph in the 1/8th, and rolling to a 11.62@ 92 mph in the 1/4!!!

Second pass I was going to go all out and get that 10s pass, well didn't go so well for me! I broke all three universals, the tcase, and the driveshaft!!!

Picked up a new tcase, and DSS 3 1/2 drive shaft from shep. Should be able to click off a 10s pass next Thursday ( June 3rd ) at PRP! If I don't break anything else!!!

Dam you broke the drive shaft clean off!! Thats a great video to look back on. An upgraded shep T case will be on that car im sure next year if not this year. Good luck with keeping the drivetrain together this year!!

Yeah, almost got the shep tcase, but i'm going to wait till this winter to get one.. $2200 is something I really don't want to spend right now, but will if I have too!!

good news for you if you can wait, I talked to shep about some things and he mentioned he was making a new tcase setup that costs less and is stronger.. I don't remember details but he was saying his target price was about 1500..

That is true, I heard him say something about that...

You and I need one both and god knows you or I will never break one so its worth it to have a good day at the track. I would not put slicks on the car untill you get the T case though your tires are giving way not your t case. Also great driving bro are you lifting??

Nice times! I am hoping to get mine to the track soon. I usually trapped about that last year in the 1/8 and in the quarter I was right around the 130 mark give or take. Your car definitely has 10's in it no problem!

Thanks man, I definitely think it has 10s too. the car has way more boost and tuning in it also. We had the timing around 10* because of the pump gas. So for next week, if I have enough time might tune the car on vp110, with timing around 18*-20* at 35psi! That should definitely wake this car up!!!

Come to find out, I had the wrong tcase in my car for the past 3years! It was out of a 97-99 gsx!!! I had a extra output shaft laying around and figured I would check it... Marked it and it made 27 complete turns before all the marks line back up. Went and got another case off of a buddies car, and it only made 24 complete turns before the marks lined back up! :ohdamn:
I have been wondering why I have been breaking so many transmission parts over the past 3 years!!!

Wow, great work so far. Correct Xfer case and 10 sec passes to come.

Thanks, I will definitely keep everyone updated on next weeks trip!

Thats complete crap! All that work, time, money. . . At least you figured it out.

Yeah, what gave me the idea, that it might be wrong was. Ever sence I got the welded center diff, the front tires are almost all chewed up and back tires are still like new! Also couldn't push the car by my self on flat straight serface!

I was going to say there's no way you should be breaking those parts at that power level.

Hopefully that fixes the drivetrain issues. Good luck next time getting into the 10's.

Thanks man! I'm just wondering how much damage it has caused on the trans internals!!! I'm going to take it up to shep next month to get checked out.

I would talk to Tim Zimmer (twicks69) about your possible trans issues. He might have a good idea if anything is messed up because of your situation.

Damn it flies in the first place and the suspension movement really accents it haha

Very nice pass and driving. 10's shouldn't be a problem, and certainly not a problem with all the parasitic loss freed up with the correct ratio :)

Dave has Shep on his cell phone under speed dial #1. LOL
