I should be getting my car back for the shop that is tuning it this week. Once its back i need to get the baer big brake kit installed and then ill be heading to the track to see what kinda times it will put down.
Im really hoping for a high 10 sec pass but, I don't see that happening so i would be happy with anything in the 11s. The car has full interior no weight reduction at all. Last time i was at the track with the car I went 8.7 @ 82.95 mph in the 1/8 with only a fuel pump boost controller set to a 21 psi spike and a 3 inch exhaust. Current set is in my profile.
Ill be running on 93 octane pump gas with hopes of getting bigger injectors and tuning for e85 later in the season.

Im running 25 psi and s/d now cause we maxxed out the stock maf at 13 psi at 4500 rpms.

^ not on a 16g you didn't. Something else wasn't right. Maybe it was just a bad maf..?? Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how deep into the 12's you'll get, but I think you have a while before getting into the 11's. Good start on the setup though, and good luck this season.

I agree i don't see 10's.I'm also pretty sure i burped once and outflowed a 1g mas,just saying.

dsm link showed the maf at 2600 to 2900 herts 1g maf is only good for 2000 to 2100 htz, and why cant you max a 1g maf on a evo 3 16g considering the 1g maf flows 31 lbs a min.
Kinda funny i see guys doing low 11s on the same exact setup. But were not bench racing here so we will see what happens at the track.

Curt Brown's black 1G went 10.33 with an Evo III 16G and boost at 30psi dropping to 26-27psi by redline. Do I think your car can run into the 10's with an Evo III 16G? It's possible- but not likely.

I definitely will post results as well as the time slip. Im Really anxious to get it back they have had it over 1 month just to tune it.

Curt Brown's car isn't a fair comparison to most DSM'ers on this site.

OP, based on your modlist, you're a far cry from 10's. I wish you the best of luck. Go get your best 1/4mi run, report back with timeslips, and then we'll help you improve your runs.

Funny I said the same thing in my first post I dont see 10s outta this setup either at the moment but I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be into the 11s on pump gas. After i put the motor im building in the car and e85 with the evo3 I see no reason that it won't go into the 10s. Im NOT chasing or trying to break any records its a goal I set for myself, Untill I get a 10.XXX out of a e316g im not taking the E3 off.

Motor im building has map ultimate duty rods custon wiseco hd pistons acl race bearings arp hareware kiggly girdle. balanced etc. port and polished head 5 angle vavle job 1mm over valves and most likely bigger cams.

I dont really see a difference in my mods and his???

I know this- which is why I used his achievement as an example. Most 10-second 16G cars have some serious weight reduction, reduction in rotational mass (smaller / lighter brake rotors, wheels, etc), and are running very high compression ratios so the engine is using of the airflow the turbo is generating at it's fullest potential.

Then this thread should be your inspiration....funny the car looks surprisingly similar to yours:

With your mods, full weight on pump, it's going to be extremely difficult to see 11s, let alone 10s, with your mods. You've also got a 34mm flapper listed in your mod list. This will work against you at the boost levels you'll need to run to get the most out of your setup as it will blow open at higher RPMs and you'll lose boost. This will work against the cams and SMIM you have. Lastly, you've got EVO 17s listed as your wheels. That means you've got heavy wheels and not alot of sidewall to absorb the shock when launching. I don't see anything mentioned for what tire you're running but you may want to consider looking into some 16s with Hoosier QTPs or DRs, or even 15s with slicks, if you want to get the most out of your setup. Of course, at that point your 2600 with street disc will probably last 2-3 passes...

I guess i could pull the sound deadner and the tar stuff out but i dont wanna gut / hack my car either. Id be really happy if i run as good as the car in the vid you posted justin.

Unfortunately you can't use other member's mod lists and results to get a feel for what your car can do. There is the tuning factor and the driver factor which also play a huge role.

I beat you by a #### hair Justin!

I do have a set of fd rx7 16s i guess ill have to grab a set of drs for them and get a better clutch,

You don't need to gut/hack to remove weight. There's TONS of safe and fully reversible stuff you could do. The car in the vid he linked is listed as 3000 lbs with him, which is a good 200 lbs under full weight, and it's on QTPs. HUGE difference right there. Also, to quote directly, "The major contributor was, and still is, e85."

I plan running e85 in the very near future i just want to upgrade the fuel lines first. I also understand i cant expect my car to run the same times as others with the same mods. due to alot of other factors weight , tires tune - driver etc. Maybe im expecting to much outta my car.:(

Mr. Peepers is on e85. If you went e85 right away your goal would be ALOT easier. You wouldn't need to replace your lines for e85.
