Well we hope you stay together from now on.. Lol. Great news on the 10 sec pass man. Congrats!!

While it is on my mind. I was at TRE talking to Jon and he explained why he no longer offers built T-cases. He said that you really can't do that much to strengthen the internals and for 100 bucks you can by a used one that should be just fine. He said spending 1200 dollars or even 800 is not justified.

I'm sure Dave will be posting up video of the runs as soon as it's uploaded / edited.

The last run of the night he upped the boost a tiny bit and played with the timing a little- the car was on a tear right off the start but was flashing the CEL (knock) and shuttered a little at the top of 3rd and 4th. Could be spark blowout, but regardless the final pass would've probably been a 10.8x judging by the way it left the tree.

q16 and 38ish lbs of boost is next on the agenda ;-) ... To add to how amazing this was He is only flowing ~55 lb/min at the moment racing on street tires!!! I cant wait until we see some 60 lb/min #'s.....and a good hole shot mid 10's should be attainable!

What an awesome night!!! Got what I wanted, and cant wait do go even further!
Shitty 60fts but got into the 10s.

Nice. Cant wait to see what my 7-blade hx-35 with the stock housing will do.

What amount of duty cycle on the injectors are you logging?

66% was the highest that it went.

Also, I want to thank (jusmx141), for this awesome reliable turbo, and want to thank (dacowgod) for helping me put this motor together and doing the tuning! Couldn't have done it without you guys!

Anytime, buddy. It's always a pleasure to be on board for your projects because I know there will always be an exciting conclusion! We should have kept track of how many Garrett / PTE / Turbonetics / SBR turbos you blew in order to get to this point!

I really don't want to know how many turbos I went through! I do know this, it was alot of money! LoL The holsets are the strongest turbos I have ever had, and will ever have! I want to put this car into the 10.4s by the end of this year, powered by the Hx40!!! I'm shopping for slicks as we speak.

Congrats!!!! Glad to see you come back after the oil pump issue!

Car is moving. Look forward to seeing it dip even lower :thumb:

Thanks man!! I have been searching around for slicks today, im going to pick up a set and put on the shelf! I want to crank the boost and do some more tuning, and try to get a 10.5-10.6 before switching to the slicks... Also would like to hit 140mph, but one step at a time. My fastest ET that night was 133.46 so not too far to go, but could take another 100hp to get 140mph..

Congrats to Dave on all of the hard work, dedication, and getting a HX40 (built by yours truly) into the 10's with 2.0 on a limited budget!

The third pass of the evening was the best; Dave dipped into the 10's even with a sub-par launch and 60ft. Sadly, he was only the third-fastest 4-cylinder in the street lanes, bested by a Dodge Neon R/T that was fully built and turbo'd (10.5 @ 135), and a VERY stock-appearing black Evo IX that was insane. The Evo was having a tough time getting a good launch together but ran a 10.8 at one point, and the last pass of the night the car trapped 140mph! WTF

Keep in mind this is being done on a very conservative tune (10.7 AFR's on VP110) at just 30-32psi. This is literally the tune that got the car running following the full build over the winter. Once the boost is upped, Dave gets some seat time to get used to his new setup, and Ricky does some fine-tuning, who knows where he will be.....10.4 @ 138? :sneaky:

Hmm did the R/T happen to be blue with silver stripes :) if it was it was Gizmo, that car hauls and is very clean SRT swap.

Congrats Dave, now you need to take me for a ride LOL

I'm glad someone is finally showing the real potential a HX40 has. I kept reading power levels of like 650whp but only running mid 11's

Keep it up Dave!

That would be him, as denoted by his vanity plate reading "GIZMO".

Congrats on 10's! Now turn up the boost on that hx40 and see what it can really do!

yea Gizmo was nassstttyy...doing full boost burnouts off the rev limiter, LOL...

Again, congrats Dave...!! Next time your in town, BRING ME YOUR CAR, i will wash/buff that beast for you!!

I will keep going with this turbo until it wont push no more! I logged at a high of 55lbs/min @ 30psi on that 10.9 pass, so I have a lot more to go!! My hp est is around 450-475, and the weight is 2660 without me in it.

man... your talon moves.... this makes me want to finish my talon even faster to get my holset on to see what it will do. Thanks for posting vids, and results of your success! Great job.
