Ostar Motorsports 10.0 @ 139 on the stock 1g block!

Well guys we made it to the track tonight and had a chance to make a few passes. We basically lost the first 2 passes to spark problems. A shame that the best 60' of 1.49 was lost on one of those passes. The 3rd pass the car bogged off the line so I let off after 3rd gear so I wouldn't get kicked out for not having a cage. The 4th and final pass we made sure that all issues were squared away and I went for the money. This was the outcome:

That 1.49 we lost was the one but eitherT way I am very happy with the outcome. 9's are just around the corner.

Amazing! If you cut that first 60ft last, you would have shaved a 10th or more off. You definately would have seen a 9sec ET. Impressive results no matter what though! Keep up the good work. 140mph with a stock 6bolt block!

I was wondering the same thing about weight. I think, actually I know that a lot of guys on here are mislead by these times. They think any stock block will run a 10 second pass because so-and-so did it. They don't realize that the cars making these awesome times have huge weight reductions. I can't wait to see a nine out of that car , when are you taking her back?

Well the car has been lighten up a bit but not as people may think. Some on this board have seen the car in person an can agree. The wipers were taken off to make room for the JMF catch can which fits on that spot. But I would not suggest anyone taking them off for weight reduction because they hardly weigh more than 5-8 pounds so its not worth it. This has been taken off:

back seats
front bumper bar (replaced by JMF bar)
rear bumper bar
a/c (still has heater core in )
Power steering
fuel tank has been replaced with the JMF tank
abs
rear seat belts

thats all. EVERYTHING else is there

stock hood
stock trunk
stock dash
stock center console
carpet
doors are untouched

The goal was to lighten her up s little but no cutting and not to make it a tin can car. Just some weight reduction anyone on the street can make.

The last time the car weighted 3080 with driver and it still had a few of the parts mentioned still on it. I estimate it is around 2900 at this point.


I want to go back asap but I want to make a boost leak test on it because after looking at the logs it seems we were 3 psi short last night.

Nice times! How much boost were you running? Cutting 1.4x is pretty impressive on stock tcase but you're at its limit. Are you still running stock front seats? The stockers are 45-50lbs each.

I have spent money putting parts on my car in the past. These days, I'm spending the money to take parts (weighs) off my car....

Only good part about wipers off is they don't flip on after the launch. I still wish I had my wipers. Makes me curious to see what mine will weigh in at

Yes, the car still has the stock front seats and even the auto seat belts

I've deleted:
AC
PS
Heater (core and all)
Sound deadening material
Front bumper support (JMF replacement)
and may get rid of rear as well.

Really close to that 9 sec pass.

Very nice work, great driving. I think everyone knows a 9 is there, esp. if you were short 3 psi.
