I meant to ask you this ^ at the meet a couple weeks ago Fernando. I was wondering if you bought JDM shortblocks and cleaned them up, replaced rings, or what. Just curious. Completely forgot about it. I was in shock at how complete and nice the chassis is on your car. I was actualy surprised that it wasn't completely stripped like a lot of 1g drag cars. Street car status for real.

Amazing what a stock block can do with our 4g63's and its funny how many honda boys talk crap about DSM's.

Btw how often do things break on that stock block seeing those numbers?

Last year we ran with 600+whp all season until the last event of the year which we had one of the rods go. Judging from that I would say it can last if tuned properly and with the right setup. With the power we have now only time will tell

I actually find good working blocks on here and also craigslist. Take them apart and use the parts that are in perfect working order. Block is then cleaned and put back together using new oem rings and bearings.

Thanks! the car has been a very cool project. I really would like to avoid making it a tin can, so for now it stays heavy. I need to weigh it but I estimate about 2800 with driver

It does, but arp head studs are not apart of the rotating assembly.

Just throwing this out there.. The F series has done 750whp through a stock block also.. Don't think it's gone 9's but it can certainly do the power.



Everytime I look at this thread, I get a woody. Quit.

There is one deep in the 9s on a stock short block. All of the s2000 internals are forged tho.

Really cool guys, my buddy and I where just hanging out asking a bunch if question. I believe they said it has a dogbox. The setup is so simple it rediculous, it still has power windows .
