1G Oil Squirter question

Short story.. lost oil pressure(6psi) so shut car down immediately.

Pulled motor to go over it and found this in the pan.

Now I know there is a debate on yes or no to squirters so Ill leave that oit of this.

Since our 1g squirters are now discontinued as of april 2022 can I use the evo 8s squirters succesfully to keep the cooling of the oil these give?

If your pistons are 1G/2G DSM, EVO 1/2/3/4/5 or aftermarket pistons without cooling channel, it wouldn't matter much what oil squirters you have since the pistons don't have cooling channel, just jetting oil underneath of pistons. Should make sure there is no interference when you install since the EVO 6+ oil squirters have longer nose for the cooling channel.

They are wiseco with manley rod combo... so probably no oil cooling channels. Just dont want overly high oil pressure by blocking them completely

No, you want overly high oil pressure. It is your car, so you can think incorrectly all you want however.

I know thank you... this whole mishap stemmed from having surgery from torn bicep when it went back together the last time. I trusted someone to help me and have had nothing but regrets.

I used locktite on the squirters. Do you know if they were torqued?

It sure doesnt look like locktite was used... torqued would be a guess... im just doing it right this time

Other than major mishaps like this, does anyone know if squirters otherwise “wear out”? I’ve noticed they have a specific washer that is listed in the fsm as not reusable, but I would think the rest of it could be replaced by a decent used piece.

Yep, always use NEW washers on the oil squirters and no they don't wear out but they do get clogged. Get a piece of 12ga wire or such and take ONE STRAND out, long enough to go through the "jet" portion, work from both the end of the jet and from the inside of the banjo hole to clean out any debris. Wash with brake parts cleaner and test by blowing thru the jet end with your mouth to make sure it is open. I do this on all "used" jets and have found a few that were completely clogged. Don't break off the copper strand at the bend, so use common sense when cleaning them. You should be able to poke the complete wire through from the jet side to the banjo hole and see it coming out if it is nice and clean.
AGAIN, be careful not to break off the wire. If I had a strand of STEEL wire, I would use it over copper (pretty dam soft) but I haven't ever found any, and it would have to be small in diameter.

Go to a Guitar shop & get what every size string is best size. They can be purchased individually in .001" increments starting .008" and up.

I never thought of that. I own 2 so I have extra strings or broken ones
