Loose pressure plate bolt

I found 2 pressure bolts that came loose. One was about 1/2 turn and the other about a 1/4 turn from 14ftlbs. Will this cause a drag issue at 7k rpm with clutch pedal fully depressed?

I'd say yes Tony. It would take a little more pedal movement to get it to disengage, in my mind.
Maybe some Blue Loctite to keep them snug? Or Green?
I am hoping others will give their .02¢

It depends how much the PP lifts when you depress the clutch pedal but technically yes, it drags. I had a similar issue with my customer car. It started to drag after he installed a higher pressure plate, found he was using old bolts that being over-torqued and stretched, even one bolt head was gone. Just changed all bolt and applied some loctite slightly, the issue was solved.

So you're putting that trans back in, or you're putting in the spare?

I always put loctite on all of those hard to get bolts for the same problem you are having now. I use the red loctite though because of the excessive vibration issues but then again I do have solid mounts in my car. If you find any bolts that are grinded down or streched replace them now that you are there.

Use blue loctite for pressure plate bolts, red for flywheel bolts. Use new fasteners. 18-22 ft/lbs (star pattern until pressure plate is fully seated, finger tight then torque spec) on pressure plate bolts is within yield numbers. 100 ft/lbs (hand tight star pattern then 35/70/100#) on flywheel bolts.

There is absolutely zero need for loctite red on pressure plate bolts, especially when loctite 242, 243 and 246 are designed for this use.
