I was doing some thinking today, and the last time i remember seeing a 1g dsm on the street was roughly 12 years ago. I see a couple of crappy looking 2gs, but they look like non turbos. I live in PA, and I’m sure the rust has gotten to most of the ones people drove around a lot, but I’m suprised there aren’t more people with them. I see more supras than i do DSMs. What got me thinking about this was seeing a clean 1ga talon on Seinfeld, and got jealous of all the people that used to drive these awesome cars freshly from factory.

Where I live, I'm probably the only person who drives a 1G on the road. 2gs are not super rare but almost all of them are 420a. 4g63 equipped 2gs are rare though. My neighbor even has a 2g turbo'ed 420A talon. Nowadays many people even don't know DSM. When I'm driving my 2g, I am sometimes told by local kids that I have a cool Supra.

Seeing less and less these days. I saw a 95 NT on the interstate last week and a 92-93 NT near home about a month ago. Aside from that I can't remember that last time or what model it was. If I didn't have an eye for these car I probably wouldn't realize what I saw.

It's really rare to see them around here. Perhaps 2-3 times a year at most. There's probably less than 50 still in existence in this whole province and about 10 of them are full blown racecars at this point.
I’m trying to make that one more with the build i have going. Lol

I see almost none. I do get some thumbs up in mine.
Same here, haven't seen one for a while.
Car gets waves and yells from 20's, teens, and little kids.
I like it that the kids are into retro stuff.
Older guys in Porsches or most any enthusiast car are usually curious.
It's loud, I'm sure that's part of it. A guy in my neighborhood came running out of his garage to watch me roll by at like 25 mph, just warming up the gearbox.

Saw a 90-91 panda Talon drive by a month or two ago while waiting at the stoplight at the front of my neighborhood. Looked to be in great condition. Needless to say I was absolutely shocked to see it. Was an "old(er)" guy driving it as well (I guess older meaning my age...). Within the past 5 years... a red 92-94 Talon TSi, white 97-99 Eclipse GSX (both in excellent condition), and two 2G NT's that looked their age. Had a teenage kid come by while I was in the garage. He thought it was a cool car and asked if it was a Supra LOL

The red one while they are driving? I pointed it out to my wife while we were binge watching it. Did you also notice the silver Mitsu Starion that is always parked on the street in a lot of the episodes? Must belong to someone who works on the set.

Spotted two last summer/fall. A red 1gb and a white 2g Spyder. Never saw either of those before, so we are growing a bit around here.. which is really freaking surprising.
Of course my car was still in pieces so I couldnt cruise with either
Boo.

Yes i was referring to the red 1ga talon while they are driving, but there is another white 1ga eclipse in one of the episodes parked on the street while they’re walking

Saw one 3 yrs ago driving thru Nova Scotia ..and yrs before that saw a couple in Quebec...don't know of any running or not near me ...when i bought the '90 and trailered it from Alberta to Newfoundland had several people approach me at gas stops and ask about the car ..which was cool !!

I don't think a single drive goes by without someone telling me they haven't seen one of these in years. That is usually followed up by a story about an experience they had with one a decade or two ago (neighbor, kid in high school, girlfriends dad, etc). It is without a doubt, my favorite part about owning the car.

It doesn't hurt that it is a bright red car with a giant wing.

Rarely. I hardly even see EVOs. Honestly, it's a wonderful thing. It makes our cars stand out that much more. I can't wait to finish the 2G and drive her around.
I've been waiting years to see this thing on the road. Now that I have this 95 gst, and it still has paint, I get thumbs up.
Curious what reaction I'll get with the 2gb talon.

It's getting there. Working on the standalone wiring bits, then trans wiring but mechanically it's 99% done...assuming nothing else is wrong. You know how these things go. :) It will DEFINITELY run this year.

Was driving the talon to look at the parts car I ended up buying a week back, and actually saw a red 2GB GSX turning the same way I was going. Pulled over and chatted, was awesome. Only other time I’ve seen a dsm on the road in awhile.
